PICKUP CAMPERS NOT BEING ALLOWED INTO MEXICO!!!!!!!!

I went to Baja in November for the Baja 1000. No one ever said anything to me about the tuck camper in Baja. I did have to wait at secondary on our side of the fence for over an hour in secondary on our way home with my wife in the passenger seat with a freshly broken collar bone though.

Exterior height of a Palomino ss 1251 or 1500 ON the truck

Not trying to be a smartass, but it's going to depend on the height of the truck.

which truck for a Pop-up Camper

I drove an Isuzu cab over service truck for a few years when I was an Allison Transmission Field Service Tech. a couple of considerations...you're sitting right on top of the front tires, not the most comfortable ride quality, and the other thing is to get to the engine for anything, you have...

    Truck/Camper Combo Payload Question

I would guess that most if not all half tons are overloaded, some 3/4 tons may fall into the same category depending on the camper.

Adapt my FWC Eagle to a fullsize truck, or start over with a Hawk?

Looking closer at the pic I posted, I think I ended up going an inch taller on the platform for better roof clearance. I've considered having a water tank built to use as a platform rather than the dead space I have now. It's not my idea, one of my customers did it under their 4WC.

Adapt my FWC Eagle to a fullsize truck, or start over with a Hawk?

My camper is a Sun-Lite Skyhawk, originally in a Ford Ranger. I had to put it on a 4" platform to make it work. While more interior room would be a bonus, the narrow camper allows for storage space between the truck bed and the camper.

Northstar vs Sun-Lite vs Hallmark for Ford F-150

^^^^Are you sure there isn't a fuse missing in the fuse block for that 12v hot pin on the 7 pin connector?

Northstar vs Sun-Lite vs Hallmark for Ford F-150

I've got a SunLite Skyhawk (really designed for a mini truck) in my '06 2500 Dmax. I've had the camper for about 5 years or so, average 30 nights a year in it. When I got it I was assured by the interweb experts that it wasn't even suitable to drop a tire off on a dirt shoulder without...

    Tailgate On or Off?

If you bang your head more than once...well...I'll just leave it at that. We left the tailgate on with our set up, the tailgate serves as a porch of sorts.

    Air conditioner alternatives

I've got a Coleman roof air on my pop up camper, can't remember what the model is. It's specifically designed to be run on a Honda 2Kw generator, which it does quite nicely.

    Sun Lite pop up camper

I think all campers should be tied down. They'll slide around in the bed if not.

    Sun Lite pop up camper

Still have the camper on the truck, use it about 30 nights a year. We've been more than happy with it.

    Why no backward flip pac?

I suspect the "footprint" of a back flip FlipPac could be a negative as well. With the current version, if the truck fits, the Flip Pac will fit, with a backwards flip you'd need another 6-8' of real estate.

2013 Phoenix Pulse CS POPUP for Toyota Tacoma EVERY OPTION PRICED TO SELL

I too WAS considering a custom camper from Phoenix. I decided that my current camper (SunLite Skyhawk SB) did everything I need it to, and also met my wife's needs, would do just fine for a few more years. I've got no dog in the fight, but if/when I decide to get a new camper, I'm pretty sure...

Post Pics of your FWC with Lifted Trucks

Thanks for the compliment. The lift is almost useless other than allowing larger tires. The front is a drop down bracket and the rear is blocks (which I intend to change out to custom springs, eventually). I get reduced fuel economy, increased wear and tear on suspension components...

Camper + trailer: how do you deal with wiring/plugs?

I have a separate 7 pin mounted in the bed side of my truck for the camper. Not sure about Ford's, but GM/Chevy 2500/3500's have the wiring harness for the bed mount 7 pin factory supplied, wrapped up and secured to the left framerail area where the cab/bed meets.
