SOLD - 2021 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon

Hello all, I’ve a 2021 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon for sale. I purchased this rig a year ago and set it up to be as capable as possible off road while still retaining good street manners. To my mind I succeeded. I’ll post a list of all the modifications below. I’m very happy with the vehicle but...

Effect of Salt Water on Vehicles

I am posting this hear because I know several people with experience running in the salt doing Fraser Island tours post here. I am curious about how quickly salt acts on vehicles. My specific use would involve a side by side used to launch a boat into salt water a few times a year. Assume the...

    New Overland Explorer Base Camp

I’ve no idea how you would integrate dual tanks into the truck. Ford doesn’t seem to have provisions for that. The smaller inside rail tank would be in the way of the camper gray water tank. I suppose you could eliminate the gray water tank or discuss with OEV about relocating it. Frankly...

No I wasn’t. The front of axle tank was located where the camper gray water tank is located.

    New Overland Explorer Base Camp

Yes some. Less than my old OEV. Guess it’s. It as air tight or perhaps I do a better job of running an exhaust fan? Putting moisture into small spaces condensation is inevitable.

    New Overland Explorer Base Camp

I’ve over 20 nights in the camper now. A handful in single digits. One night it got to a low of -9 F. Camper is super comfortable. I’m extremely happy with it. I’ve not got my awnings installed yet. Hopefully next week. I did receive the brackets and shelf’s to turn the toilet closet into a...

    2019 F350 6.2L 4WD build thread; HPI flatbed, ATO AterraXL composite camper, Carli/King, 37s, 4.88s, etc

I used LG steps on my previous camper from OEV, they worked well. I like your solution a lot, especially the storage location. Unfortunately, that will not work on my setup. Hanging off the rear is fine. I would not worry to much about the need for an extra step/entensions step. Always nice...

2020 Ford F250 on 37s - Expedition Truck Camper Build!

Moab is a wonderful vacation destination. Wide open spaces, beautiful scenery, great trails. Things happen slowly. Rock crawling is slow speed. Take your time and enjoy. Don’t overthink it. Just go and enjoy. My only real suggestions are; find accommodations early unless self sustaining and...

2020 Ford F250 on 37s - Expedition Truck Camper Build!

Exactly Yes but that’s not specific to hill climbing. It’s equally true going downhill or level. Same with me. I’m a big believer in the law of diminishing returns and have always avoided highly specialized vehicles. Stock to moderate customization works for me.

2020 Ford F250 on 37s - Expedition Truck Camper Build!

Peter, I’m serious about meeting in Moab. I’m putting together a trip for 2024, most likely the first week of April but possibly the last week of March. I’ll be bringing my F350 Overland Explorer Base Camp, my 1984 Toyota pickup and perhaps something else, who knows. You’re welcome. Last time...

2020 Ford F250 on 37s - Expedition Truck Camper Build!

Sure. You bring the camera I’ll drive. Not understanding the longer wheelbase advantage to climbing unless you’re worried it’s so short it might flip over backward. Kind of figured we’d agree on that. ? Other rigs are much more capable, of course. More challenging and requiring better...

The hill was the first serious obstacle on the Pritchette Canyon trail.

2020 Ford F250 on 37s - Expedition Truck Camper Build!

You might be right. The opposite of inexperience and lack of talent are experience and talent. I would argue that those two traits would lead you to select the best tool for the job. I watched the Pritchette Canyon video. Neat but also nothing more than a marketing stunt made possible...

2020 Ford F250 on 37s - Expedition Truck Camper Build!

regarding the above I’ve no idea. The most impressive rock crawling performance I’ve personally witnessed was in Moab. A group of built rigs came along and tackled the hill. Can’t remember the name but it’s got winch point anchored into the rocks. anyway they all struggled and most made it with...

    New Overland Explorer Base Camp

Couldn’t find your thread. I had no sensors by design. Simply don’t want the cost and complexity. Nor do I want to turn a $500 fender bender into a $7500 accident.
