    2013 Chevy Express 3500 10' Cutaway Build

The install was very straight forward, and Sheel-mann has good instructions online that are easy to follow. They provided me with adapter plates for the rails, seat belt brackets, and all the hardware. The seats did not disappoint, even though I don't have them wired for heat yet. Mike

    2013 Chevy Express 3500 10' Cutaway Build

This morning I was able to finish up the rear bumper, and just in time for our upcoming trip tomorrow. The aluminum box was a bit of a last minute idea that'll double as a work center. I'll be able to store some item in this, and have a flat work space if needed.

    2013 Chevy Express 3500 10' Cutaway Build

I've been trying to wrap some things up before departing for our road trip on 12/23 when we head into No-Cal for a week. That means I should be dumping a lot of updates over the next couple days. First update is small, but pretty significant. I recently purchased some insulated window and fan...

T-stats can be a bit problematic at times. Besides that, this has been a great running van, and a lot of fun to build. Mike

    2013 Chevy Express 3500 10' Cutaway Build

It's the 6.0 Vortec (aka LS). We're averaging around 9-10 mpg if my math is correct. We do have a leaking head gasket and bad o2 sensor at the moment, and I know that's messing with the mileage. Mike

    2013 Chevy Express 3500 10' Cutaway Build

I'm jumping backwards a little since I don't think I ever posted the electrical setup in the rear of the van. We have two 100w solar panels on the roof with a 200Ah hybrid gel battery running everything. We're using a Victron MPPT 75/15 controller, Victron shunt, and Victron Blue Smart Charger...

    2013 Chevy Express 3500 10' Cutaway Build

I try extremely hard to make sure to double check. On the bumper build I actually bent the tire hoop starting with last bend rather than the first, and the to improvise. Mike

    FS: Partner Steel 26" 3 Burner - NIB - Euegen OR - $535 - SOLD

Hello, I have a brand new in the box 26" Cook Partner with 3 burners, and gas on the right side. The stove has been removed from the box, but has not been used. I'm asking $535 for the stove and $35 for shipping. This is what I paid and I'm hoping to break even on this. Below are the specs...

    2013 Chevy Express 3500 10' Cutaway Build

Over the weekend I was able to start building the swingout tire carrier, and almost finished it. The carrier hinge is a 4xInnovations, and all the tubing for the swingout is 1-3/4" x .120 DOM. I also purchase the tire mounting plate from Ruff Stuff, and the a compression latch from SouthCo going...

    2013 Chevy Express 3500 10' Cutaway Build

Next up was welding in a new 2" x 3" x .120 crossmember with a 2" receiver hitch. The receiver hitch will only be used for hauling our bike and never used for towing anything. So I wasn't overly concerned about the size of the material. I made some side plate reinforcements from 7 ga CRS that...

    2013 Chevy Express 3500 10' Cutaway Build

A couple of weeks ago I started on the rear bumper and tire carrier. I'm reducing the overall depth of the rear step by 5" and shortening it on each side by roughly 12". First I removed the old flaking thread plate, spreader and got everything prepped for the new crossmember.

    2013 Chevy Express 3500 10' Cutaway Build

Holy crap it's been a while. Here are some updates, build pictures, and adventure pictures. I still have a list of things that need to be completed now that spring is rolling in. Here's my to-do list for now: *Front bumper *Rear bumper with swingout(s) *New water storage tank location *Under...

    2013 Chevy Express 3500 10' Cutaway Build

Here's an update since I've been slacking at it. I have a lot going on right now, and I'll try my best to recap everything. The ceiling is just about finished, and I only need 2 more pieces of blue pine to go up. I'm going to hold off on that until I get all of my wiring complete, and make sure...

    2013 Chevy Express 3500 10' Cutaway Build

The ceiling is just about finished. I only need to install the two filler pieces on the sides, and replace the out of color pieces in the middle. Overall I'm very happy with how this turned out.
