Heavy duty milk crate at Harbor Freight

I have a folding crate from Costco too. Also a good product. It probably works just as well in my hatchback but I prefer the stronger construction and milk crate style vented siding for the bed of my truck.

Heavy duty milk crate at Harbor Freight

Harbor Freight sells a heavy duty milk crate that can stack and be locked together. I got a few and they seem well made and a good value. I put one in the back of my hatchback and a couple in the bed of my truck. Perfect to keep small loose items from rolling around...

    Builtright Industries bedside rack

Also, molle gear and storage solutions marketed to the offroad and camping market are overpriced in my opinion. The tool bags and pouches sold at hardware stores are much cheaper and practical alternatives. For example:

    Builtright Industries bedside rack

I installed some bedside rack panels in my F350 and had a few challenges. Hopefully this post will help out if you are considering or installing a system on your Ford truck. My truck has a spray in bed liner, gooseneck package with trailer plugs in the bed, bed lights and a camper shell. The...

    Katzkin leather seat re-upholstery?

I think they came out nice. Soft, comfortable and I like the smell of real leather. There was a problem with a plastic trim piece that is going to get fixed next week. Between the airbags and inevitable issues with the install, I definitely think it was worth having it done professionally and...

Thoughts on the Truckhouse Tacoma expedition camper...

I was curious how this idea turned out as I couldn't imagine a practical solution. It seems as though Truckhouse gave up on the Tayota platform? Any idea if any made it to customers? I imagine it would have to be a private transaction where the buyer would have to sign off on a "prototype" with...

    Katzkin leather seat re-upholstery?

I kust ordered Katzkin seats for my 4runner. Dog hair is a nightmare on my cloth seats and the only reason I didn't get leather to begin with is that I didn't want a sunroof, (hard to get one without the other). I'm also going to have the carpet steam cleaned when the seats are out. I'm paying...

    RSI Smartcap - Any feedback?

Reviving a zombie thread as it seems like the only one dedicated to the RSI Smartcap. I have one on my F350. Recently used it on a road trip to AZ. I can confirm that mine also survived a heavy downpour with no leaks. I think some water came in the vent when I drove it through a high pressure...

4runner rock slider that is also a step

Probably not. I rarely go offroading but when I do, I think sliders would give me a sense of comfort. I'm also looking to retire my 4runner from daily driver duties and make it my project vehicle so doing modifications will be part of the fun. So maybe I'll just wait until I get a new daily...

4runner rock slider that is also a step

I'm looking to upgrade from the factory running board on 2018 TRD offroad to a rock slider but I can't eliminate the "step" feature because my wife is short so she actually uses the step to get in and out. Something where she has to stick her toes under the door sill or something isn't going to...

    Outfitter Mfg. Custom Build Pics

Pictures from a road trip I took a little while ago. California was a challenge finding places to stay. I basically relied on military bases. I tried a campground in Big Sur but the parking spaces in the sites are surrounded by posts to make sure only a compact car can camp there. The pictures...

Adventure Vehicle advice for a growing family?

I agree. If you sell the quigley, you will probably be telling people how you miss it for the next 20 years.

Adventure Vehicle advice for a growing family?

I have towed cargo trailers so I have some experience. They are more difficult to maneuver during gas and food stops but my truck camper has other negatives. Rough roads stress me out more than towing a trailer because it is so top heavy and every bump is causing extra wear on my truck...

Hallmark or Outfitter - help me decide!

The Juno and Apex have fiberglass frames like a boat so they are pretty robust. The cabinetry in mine also seems great quality. All the built in accessories like stoves, water pumps, heaters, ect are probably from the same Chinese factory regardless which camper you get. Maybe Hallmark is better...

Adventure Vehicle advice for a growing family?

Why do you say travel trailers are a pain for short trips? I never owned one but it seems like they would be convenient, just hook up and go?

Adventure Vehicle advice for a growing family?

In my opinion, a quigley e350 will hold its value better than most things you could replace it with. When I was a kid, my dad had a van and it was a lot of fun on road trips because you could move around while driving, (as a passenger). I would consider keeping it and towing a light trailer with...

    Towing a 16ft Airstream with a 4runner? Other alternatives?

5th gen v6 was designed to replace the V8. Plenty of torque for 3500 lb trailer

    Towing a 16ft Airstream with a 4runner? Other alternatives?

If he goes over 3500 lbs in the Bambi then he is exceeding the trailers max weight. That is a whole other issue

    Towing a 16ft Airstream with a 4runner? Other alternatives?

No, it is occupants plus luggage. That number is never referred to as payload anywhere on my door or owners manual. Then read the tongue weight calculation. It only references Gross vehicle weight
