    Ryobi Gen Sine Wave Test

Semantics....... that squared sine wave form is commonly called a modified sine wave sometimes referred to as a stepped sine wave. Marketing hype sure, but it is what it is called. A pure sine wave would be one that doesn't have any spurious noise in it, pure sine wave is a correct technical...

    Partner Stoves?

The regulator for your travel trailer is most likely a low pressure one. the partner stove needs higher pressure, that's why it comes with it's own regulator. It will not work on normal low pressure gas. You will have to connect the regulator from the stove directly to the tank to get the...

    2017 North American Solar Eclipse - Planning/Discussion

If I go to see this I will not be taking any photos. Decades ago I did shoot an annular eclipse from the roof of my house in San Diego, it took place as the sun was setting over the Pacific ocean. this was shot with a Canon film camera as there were no digital SLR at that time LOL:

    Is this power inverter overkill?

Being overkill or not depends on the no load current draw. If using something needing 1800 watts it will draw well over 100 amps from your battery bank so use it wisely!

    Quick Antenna Question

The answer to both of those questions depends on what antenna you are using. The best would be a 102" whip but do you really need that? Short range communication can be done effectively with shorter antennas. A magnetic mount would not need a ground wire and a long whip would be grounded at the...

    4-Door 6' Bed Options

I love my big Cummins powered Dodge 2500 4x4. Before this truck I had a 1994 Dakota extended cab. Only 2 doors and the back seats were really no good for passengers. My big dodge seats 5 comfortably, has the same size bed as the Dakota 6.5) and gets about the same fuel mileage. The Big truck has...

There is a science to small wood burning stoves...I have made a couple of wood gas stoves. The design will be totally determined but the intended use. Some can be very efficient, using less fuel and emitting less toxic combustion by products. Most of third world cooking is done over wood or...

The importance of a rear dust light in the southwest.

Outside of a sanctioned, controlled race a person should not drive into a dust cloud at a speed that they cannot see far enough ahead of them to prevent "nerfing" someone in said cloud. Hardley ever will there be such a dust cloud that you can't wait for a bit of a clearing due to wind or...

    Rewiring headlights to ignition switch?

For cutting off headlights you could just put a relay directly in the wires going to headlights powered by a hot with ignition only source. Probably need two, one for high beams and one for low beams.

any honda owners in these parts that take their rigs offroad?

I used to have an '80 something Accord that I would drive out to Anza Borrego with a two motorcycle trailer. I'd drive till I got stuck and camp there. When ready to leave I'd take the rails off the trailer and put under the front wheels of the car and drive out.
