Pics of your VAN! Post up!

Added some good stuff in the last year. After seeing the massive 23zero 87 walkabout RTT we decided to put that thing 9 feet off the ground and really ruin what little gas mileage we had left. Also added a RIGD spare tire carrier, side ladder, and a huge front lock and load roof rack/deck...

Pics of your VAN! Post up!

Dropped off some wheels for powder coat, we were talking about how all overland vehicles seem to have either black or bronze wheels right now. I said throw some military OD green on there for sheets and giggles. So now my wheels match my house.

Pics of your VAN! Post up!

Spring Break glamping with my girls just outside Moab near Canyonlands. We went heavy (16K lbs) took Moby and the Outback as the weather can get pretty nasty on a moments notice. It was gorgeous every day, next level peanut butter cup smores were invented, burgers grilled, camp fires, many bubly...

Pics of your VAN! Post up!

Added a few things this winter to further destroy my fuel mileage, just took off the winter studs and added new 285 Falken muds. I figure with current fuel prices if I'm not going to get to go far this summer might as well add a tire that I enjoy looking at when its parked in camp.

Dad, what's a back country beater? What will your kiddos remember later in life?

I had a 61 FJ40 that the starter failed on (filled with seawater, oops) and I was making about $5 an hour back then. That great big low compression 6 cylinder engine always wanted to run, took very little to get her going. I could push start it myself, it was heavy but popped off and ran with...

Dad, what's a back country beater? What will your kiddos remember later in life?

Update, as winter started to set in we decided to put the doors back on, still super heavy, a second person and a stump to rest them on is key. I had traced around the hinges with a sharpy before removal so putting them back on lined up in the right place was surprisingly easy and very quick...

2012 Wheeled Coach Ambulance Tall Box off 2012 Duramax Single Cab

Yes it is, we are parting out the truck but taking care of the box. If you have a cab and chassis that this box will fit on it is a chance to get a build base at a fraction of what it would cost for something like this new. Let me know what questions you have I will do my best to answer them.

Dad, what's a back country beater? What will your kiddos remember later in life?

This has turned out to be far more fun than I ever would have expected. People approach us every where we drive it, they love it, laugh and wave when we drive by. I don't know if they're laughing at us or with us, don't care, we're having fun in it. We're very lucky to live in the woods, can...

Dad, what's a back country beater? What will your kiddos remember later in life?

Lol, I've lived out here in the rust free Southwest almost all of my life so have never had any of those issues except the one time I went to New Hampshire to visit a friend. I left to drive his Jeep XJ to town from his cabin and ignored the note that said don't forget the plywood. The first...

Dad, what's a back country beater? What will your kiddos remember later in life?

Thats awesome, I like how this has brought back memories. I remember what an amazing feeling it was to drive as a teen, freedom, Im a man, girls and so on lol. My daughter was driving us to and from the lake here where we live with like 1.25 miles on a remote county road at 35mph. She asked...

Ambulance Camper/ Expedition Rig Conversion FAQ

I used seats from a shuttle van, they come in rows or 2-3, they are high backed, recline, arm rests, are heavy duty, have built in seat belts and attach to a flat floor with massive backing plates. Look for normal extended vans that were airport type shuttles, the seats are far superior to factory.
