Lets see some full size pictures...

It was converted in the UK for the UK market, oddly has the steering box on the left but an aircraft chain drive system under the dash to the right hand side, and very rough built pedal system comprising of a hydraulic clutch and a shaft and links from the brake pedal to the brake m/c on the...

Are older Land Rover Discoveries really that bad? How do they compare to contemporary Toyotas?

Just saying- these pics were taken in 2009 , 2 of the 10 body mounts were intact, my defender 110 was worse

Chairs for men of substantial dimensions?

I have a couple of these, super comfortable, adjustable and strong. Far better than any camping chair I've come across, but not light Not sure if they're available in the US but I'm sure you must have something similar https://www.nashtackle.co.uk/products/view/indulgence-big-daddy-camo

80's E350 Quadravan Pathfinder what to look for?

Vintageracer, thanks for the detailed reply. Certainly puts a reality check on things. My reasons for wanting the van are several, my other options are a F350 of similar vintage or a 60's panel van. The van is a bit smaller than the F350, so slightly more practical (not a word I use often) A...

80's E350 Quadravan Pathfinder what to look for?

As per the title. I'm interested in an 86 E350 Quadravan Pathfinder that's up for sale locally. Anything to pay careful attention to, while looking it over? Anything to avoid? Any owners comments welcomed? Cheers

    Michelin XZL. Real world feedback?

I see the G90's mentioned and have to reply. I had one on the spare wheel when I got the 110. I fitted it while sorting out a bead leak on one of the XZL's. It wasn't on for long, if I even looked at the brake pedal in the wet that thing would lock up, and cornerning speeds were reduced to...

    Michelin XZL. Real world feedback?

Defenders are never going to be an easy drive (much better with a bit of weight in them) mine is an ex military which came with no sound insulation etc. I've added a bit of silent coat noise reduction sheets and with the Toyos It's now possible to hold a conversation in the cab

    Michelin XZL. Real world feedback?

I have a set in my backyard, taken of my defender 110, replaced with Toyo Open Country 255/85 R16. The 7.5 16 XZL were much louder, far less grip in the wet, not that great off road (nearly slid of the side of a trail, that two other vehicles passed with ease, one on AT's) and they're not that...

Suggest alternate options for these batteries ?

Rolls Surrette, end of story as far as Lead acid batteries go. Of course the new batteries LiPo etc are giving some very interesting lighter weight options, but I have no direct experience with these.

    New vehicle time

Thanks, the vehicle is registered as a 66 but it could well be a 65 taking into account the build time etc.
