I dont think it has anything to do with the resonator. The purpose of the resonator is to lesson the sound of the exhaust as it exits the tail pipe. I cut mine off and the "turbo" noise is much louder than before.

Your comparing a small Jeep to a tank of a Cruiser. How can you expect the same performance? They are two completely different vehicles. My dad has a Rubicon, and I feel like a chihuahua would be cramped in the back of that thing!
