Unimogadventures - Our build and travel thread

Hi Iain It was great to finally meet you and your wife at the Brissy Camping show. I enjoyed checking out the All Terrain Warriors trucks with you and John. Sorry I had to leave before I could say goodbye but there was some pushy customers who wanted to look inside and then I had to leave...

Unimogadventures - Our build and travel thread

Hi Iain Once again your build is looking great. I am getting more and more jealous every time I check it out. Your outback trip looks like a great one too. My wife, daughter and I took our 100 series and our camper trailer and the wife's parents took their Nissan with us out to Lake Eyre in...

    Mitsu Fuso Camper examples

Hi John It's been a while since I have visited ExPo. This truck could very well have been one of ours. I'd need to see it in the flesh to know for sure. We are only one of the builders of these trucks for Ergon. There are several builders but we get 90% of this size truck. I don't think it is...

We normally use either BEP or Bussman fuse holders. If you have the room I'd go for the BEP one every time but if you are tight for room the Bussman will do. I did use a Projecta combo battery terminal/fuseblock on my 100 series. It looked good in the catalogue but it was the one the caused me...

Unimogadventures - Our build and travel thread

Hi Iain Great work on the build, as always. I don't get on ExPo much anymore but this thread is one I always check. You will like those little LED's (Baby Buzzards?), we use them on every truck we build at work. It also looks like you are using the same pancake LED's too, they are a great...

Unimogadventures - Our build and travel thread

Yeah after looking back through this thread at your truck and then having another look at this one it has a bit shorter wheelbase than yours. It looks like it has some sort of frame on the chassis too. Something that allows a container or similar to be slid on and locked down maybe. If it is...

Unimogadventures - Our build and travel thread

Hi Iain Camper is looking good. Is your Mog currently up in Maryborough? I spotted a White Mog like yours parked in the yard next to the fibreglass workshop that is over the back of my place. Is it yours? If it is you should come over for a chat/ coffee/ beer/ whatever when you pick it up. Mick

    All Terrain Warriors campers

Airbags are designed to protect the occupant from hitting the steering wheel or dash. Basically if you have an accident and didn't smash your face into the steering wheel you haven't had a bad enough accident for the airbags to deploy. If the airbag was to go off when it wasn't required it would...

    All Terrain Warriors campers

Hi John The floods have been pretty bad hey. There were 4 boats that broke free in the Mary River here. We copped another storm here this arvo, about 2" in an hour. All the creeks were back up again when I went into town this arvo after the storm. I am still off work as we can't get any...

    Comparison: 1300, 416, 404, Volvo TGB, Pinz

Hi John Thanks for that info on the Volvos. The Kombi is Ken's. I am doing a full rebuild on it for him and swapping the EJ22 into it for him. He is just paying the bills. When it is finished though I will be able to borrow it whenever I want when he gets back from a Round Australia trip he...

Ditto. I was thinking the other day about how it would be good if I could get a vehicle with the same or better off road performance as my HZJ105 Cruiser but was forward control to give better space utilization like my Kombi. And most important no bigger than my cruiser. I had forgotten about...

    new nps300 crewcab

Merry Christmas. Did you see me wave to you this morning on Alice St in Maryborough. I was in my grey 100 series cruiser. Your truck looks good out there on the road. Those flash graphics make it stand out. Good stuff. Mick

I just got a quote today from Isuzu for a NQR450 fuel tank, should be the same. I can also give you details on who locally can Mod Plate any fuel system mods you do. I also should have mentioned to you earlier that I have a copy of the Isuzu Body Builder's manual at work. Bit late now, tray is...

    new nps300 crewcab

Hi and welcome to the site. I wouldn't mind checking out your truck. I am just up the road at Maryborough and I build these type of trucks at work (see sigline). We have two in the workshop at the moment getting bodies built for Ergon. If you need a hand setting it up let me know, I've done a...

Unimogadventures - Our build and travel thread

Yes the weld is the bit that holds it all together but the folds give it extra strength over just straight welded corners. That's why we do lap joints instead of butts. Every time you can put a fold into sheet metal you make it stronger. If the tank was just a conventional rectangular box we...

I don't make the tanks myself (my welding is rubbish, I do all the mechanical and electrical work) but the sheeties we have at work are great at it. IIRC we use 1.6mm 316. I'll check tomorrow for you. For the fittings we use 316 SS weld in sockets in BSP thread in whatever size we need. For the...
