    Clutch’s deep thoughts thread...

ICON has stated that their 700# coils should not be cranked to more than 1" of exposed threads on their COs. I suppose it is best to compare apples to apples as closely as possible. I have read that King does not recommend their stock 600lb. coil on 1st gens with extra weight.

    Clutch’s deep thoughts thread...

Are OME and Eibach rates directly comparable? I had 650s but they collapsed in short order. I have the 700s at just over an inch of exposed thread on the collars and as far as I can tell I basically have no lift in the front.

    Clutch’s deep thoughts thread...

So, how poor is the ride of the OME compared to the SAWs you replaced? I have the 2.5 SAWs w/700# springs which are leaking and need to be rebuilt.

    re-gearing for 33"s on 1st gen

I cannot understand how you would not have found it to be absolutely necessary considering that you live in Utah. These autos just do not like to be lugged around in low rpms.

    re-gearing for 33"s on 1st gen

It really depends on where you live and if you can tolerate your engine lugging around in low rpms, which these engines do not like. Even with 5.29s, with an auto I am always clicking the button to disable OD, even on slight grades, or the tranny temps will climb. Also, with 33s, 5.29s, and an...

Winch switch/circuit breaker option (Warn 9.5xp, 482A max load at 9500lbs)

The Blue Sea rep stated that the rating is the same regardless of voltage, and approximated a 400 amp draw for 10 seconds for the 200 amp 187. I may use the Cole Hersee as a switch under the hood as a winch cutoff, but I am looking for something to protect an approx. 8ft. cable run for a battery...

Winch switch/circuit breaker option (Warn 9.5xp, 482A max load at 9500lbs)

It is rated at 200 amps, but according to their graph it will not trip at 400 amps for at least 15 seconds. Has anyone actually used one of these and found that it will not work in a winch/starter application? There is a review on Amazon stating that it works without issue in a winch application.

    100W Portable kit on ebay

This is the Renogy 100w suitcase with the View Sonic VS1024BN controller. Batteries are Diehard Platinum. No load connected. I am reading the PV display on the controller.

    100W Portable kit on ebay

Why would my panel voltage be reading 19.7v 0.5-0.6 amps in the middle of the day? Panel is aimed directly at the sun with no clouds. When it is connected to the battery it will spike up to a high amp reading for a couple seconds and then settle down to around a half amp and @19.7v.

PSA: Sears Diehard Platinum Marine battery on sale

This is how I have ran a PM-1 for 5 years. I killed its capacity years ago by not running solar and by not using an Odyssey approved charger upon returning from trips. Solar is on the way. Still looking for a charger to work with these batteries. The NOCO 7200 I bought a couple years ago is not...

How do I condition an AGM battery?

Agreed. Per Odyssey, and other threads on this and other forums, a Diehard Platinum PM-1 sized battery needs a 50 amp charger. Why is this CTEK 7.2 amp charger receiving so many recommendations? I have a NOCO 7200 (7.2 amp) that is worthless for charging DH Platinums.

    AGM Battery maintenance/charging for dummies?

How old are your batts? My Diehard P-5 is 5.5 years old and the PM-1 is @4.5 years. They have definitely lost a good deal of capacity. I also use a NOCO 7200 to attempt to top them off every so often. Is supplemental solar charging while camped the only way to keep batteries in the best of health?

Thanks. I have the BB stove and an Action Packer. I was curious as to whether the SP Utility Bag bag will fit in the bottom of the AP.

I would like to see a pic showing the BB in the case, if you can. As for the Action Packer I was curious to see how the case fits in the bottom. The Action Packer measures 14" L on the bottom and Snow Peak lists the dimension for the case as 15" L. Thanks.

Do you have any pics with the Baja Burner in the bag? From the pics and dimensions on the site it looks like the bag will have a bit of room above the stove? Any chance you have a small Action Packer to see if it will fit in the bottom?
