Trans World Record Expedition tire size trivia

I've finally gotten around to reading "Who Needs a Road?" and in it they mention Firestone made a special size tire for them. Anyone know the details on them? I'm sure they were 8 or 10 ply bias, but they don't mention the size.

    Superwinch Trailer winch for sale

Model S3500 "New", never used. Still in the box though the box isn't in good shape from being shuffled around in the garage. I was going to mount it on my 16' flat bed but decided I didn't really need one. It's just like the S3000 http://www.superwinch.com/p/s3000-3-000-lbs-12v/trailer?pp=25...

    Woodman's Pal Question

I've been thinking about buying a Woodman's Pal for about 40 years (as an admirer of Treebeard I don't want to be acused of being hasty). So I'm thinking of finally getting one because I need to cut a bunch of bamboo that's up to about 2 1/2" in diameter. I'm wondering if anyone here has used...

Anyone looking for a PTO for your Defender?

http://www.defendersource.com/forum/showthread.php?t=46444 I know nothing about the person or the PTO other than what I read in the thread. I do know I really like my Koenig PTO winch and I'd choose PTO, or hydraulic, over electric for an expedition vehicle.

    Question about '85 Ford F250

I'm going to look at an F250 4WD, 351 w/5-speed manual gearbox and wondering if there is anything that's a common issue with anything on them that I should look for. It's main use would just be hauling stuff and towing an 18' flatbed 7,500lb GVW trailer. Not really concerned about overall...

New NATO fuel cans in Atlanta area

I was in Hodge Army/Navy in Marietta last Thursday and noticed they have new NATO fuel cans with the locking pin for $59. Not cheap, but if you're in the area and want some, it's a source.

    Chevy/GMC wheel choice question

First, I'm a complete noob when it comes to Chevy's in spite of the fact my uncle was a, believe it or not, respected Chevy salesman. My mom needs new tires on her 2005 Silverado 4WD 1500 Extended Cab w/8' bed. It came with P265/70R17's and I'm thinking of suggesting switching to 16" wheels to...

    Information on retrofitting H.I.D. headlamps

In 2003 the NHTSA published a notice of draft interpretation for FMVSS 108 which addresses vehicle lighting. That stated (or at least was interpreted) that fitting HID headlights to any vehicle that didn't come from the factory with HID's was illegal. SEMA pushed for a reinterpretation and in...

    Victor Oxy-Acetylene Regulators

New in the box, $175 each. I bought these then bought and never used them because I found a set of 2 stage regulators shortly after, do they've just been sitting on a shelf.
