Main reason is price and the fact I want to do something different .

I'm thinking I could build an A arm to mount the half axle to then use a modified truck leaf . The truck leaf would be main support , as for the bounce I'm thinking some good shocks should take the bounce out of it . The though behind this is independent trailer suspension with lots of flex .

Yes I understand the difference . I am thinking if you use them together your trailer would get more flex .

Has anyone here ever used or seen someone use torsion half axles with leaf springs ?

You should be able to find all the parts you need on-line , as for doing the work use one side as a guide/reference so you know it went back together the rite way .

This would be a full on expo trailer . . . . . . . new axles w/brakes don 't know if I would go with leaf springs or airbags . any weight that can be removed will be , I know it's a big trailer not going rock crawling with it .

when I change the axle the new one would have breaks on it . . . . . . .

I would be pulling all the factory running gear. Doing an axle swap & changing the hitch also . . . . . .
