Jeep JK wheels on trailer axle?

I've towed 2000 lb trailers without brakes over mt. passes in Colorado with my XJ numerous times. With a loaded jeep and trailer, obviously you need to allow for stopping distances. The jeep is on 33's, so even normal driving requires allowing for longer stopping distances. XJ brakes are...

Battle Wagen Trailer by Expedition Offroad

I like it. I don't understand the reasoning behind the slotted walls. Some of us haul rock and stuff for the yard, which the slotted sides wouldn't be good for. A drop in pop-up tent thing would be cool.

    Leaf spring replacement for M416

Is it still spring under? Lots of cheap overload kits for spring under solid axles. I'd just measure the spring width and hit the junk yards and try adding to the pack. It must really be loaded because even at max load I don't see my stock spring packs flattening out.

WTT? M-416 Lunette Ring for Exstended Lunette

I'd be interested. I have a stock M-416 Lunette. I'd like to see how your extension connects to the cast piece. I also have the stock hooks if you are interested.

    2014 JKU + M416 = wacky trailer lights

Is there some kind of adapter on the M 416 that converts the lights to a 7 pin? I'm asking because I recently installed armored LED taillights and turn signals on my XJ. Everything worked normally before the installation. However, afterward both turn signals would blink whenever either side...

    Fred's M-416 Build

Bit of an update. The improvised awning lasted one night in mountain winds. Added the standard Harbor Freight box on the tongue and put in some basic electronics. The battery is a HF sealed lead acid battery rated at 35 Amp hours. The first pick shows the switches and outlets I installed...

    LED METER INSTALL

Thanks for reminding me. I have one to install. :) The dual input with the off position is a good idea.

Help With a 2000 Cherokee 4.0: Horrible Mileage and Labored Starting...

Did you check the air pressure in the tires? If it's been in 4WD, that kills mileage. My kids 97 gets crappy mileage, probably 11 mpg in town. My 90, until I put the correct CPS in it(not available for 91 and up) got 10 mpg in town when it was stock, and it's a stick. Might ask at NAXJA, you...

M-416 Parts, Tires, Wheels, Axle, etc.

I have parts available in Colorado Springs. Tires: Complete with lug nuts: Axle, other original parts: All in good shape with only surface rust. The foot is slightly bent. I'm not going to set prices, it's all obo. I'll ship it on your dime. It it's a massive pain in the butt...

    Plastic Welding Help.... Please

I've used similar to this: http://www.harborfreight.com/plastic-welding-kit-with-air-motor-and-temperature-adjustment-96712.html One of the keys is to have the correct rod to feed into the welder. If it's ABS, you need an ABS rod. Polypro is the most common.

    Was a dump trailer........Now.....

Nice. I always reuse stuff, with less success than you. Your XJ needs a NAXJA sticker. We are the tech source for XJ's.

    ToyRyd's M416 Build

Too funny. Same trailer, same tent, same tongue box, same switch set up for the electronics, only on the opposite side of the box. :)

Spring over axle shock on M416

Stock shocks I just used the original stock shocks. They are at quite an angle so I doubt they do much, especially since they are fairly loose anyway, but I have noticed no bad effects towing it. Mine is built up so I can use the annex of the roof top tent that's mounted on it, so I have 150#...

Expedition M116 Pioneer Tool Trailer Build Thread

This is a hobby for me. Might as well have fun with it. I try to post what I have learned over the years from my mistakes so that maybe it will save others time and money. This. I like it. If you ever have another one of those trailers, bring to Colorado for a wheeling, camping, drinking...

    Fred's M-416 Build

I finally realized(after heading to a machinist friend and having it pointed out to me) that the original wheels off of the jeep would fit over the hubs. I kinda like the jeep engraved on the wheel. :) I bought one of the flow through water heaters sold as pet washers, and put together a...

    Fred's M-416 Build

I've been getting the trailer ready for COfest 2013 the end of July. Following others on this forum, I extended the tongue of the trailer. I read one thread where he thought you could fit 60" rectangular tube and still use the stock coupler. I tried that and ended using 52" rectangular tube...
