Chris: I'm at a loss to explain why the fridge would be pulling high amps and blowing fuses other than a mechanical or even electrical issue with the compressor or an intermittent electrical short in your power delivery to the fridge. I would call/contact Dometic directly.

My CFX75 runs fine from the ciggie port with the provided ciggie port cable. I agree with the points above; could be my ciggie ports are stronger and have less voltage drop.

Elfmaz: All fridge freezers can hold ice and I think they all have drain plugs (my Dometic does). I've seen some guys use freezer packs; if the freezer is big enough and it's not full of food a freezer pack will assist the freezer, especially if its a smaller one that is taken out of the truck...

Another thought: have you checked the output of your alternator? Just test the voltage to your main battery when the engine is running and see what you get; there will be some drop across the ML ACR and a small amount across the wiring to the house battery. Deep cycle batteries will not...
