    Mains/Batt to Batt/Solar charging

Thanks for the advice guys. I'm sticking with the kit he has at the moment, and will rewire with correctly sized cabling and put a change over relay in to auto switch which charging source is to be used by using the trigger signal from the alternator.

    Mains/Batt to Batt/Solar charging

The vehicle is an ex MOD DAF 4x4 10,800kg flatbed. The box body is a demountable comms body which has been converted for living. Mixture of 12vdc and 240Vac equipment (water system, 3 way fridge, LED lights, TV, shower and toilet) in the comms body and the main vehicle retains it's original...

    Mains/Batt to Batt/Solar charging

@john61ct Many thanks for your reply. Hmm, not sure, but I guess the battery will smooth any difference. Just don't like the idea of a back feed to the charger with the lower voltage. 24v starting/main battery + 12v house/auxiliary batteries. The original vehicle is 24v, so all native...

    Mains/Batt to Batt/Solar charging

Hmm, a possibility. Just working with what's there at the moment. If I can come up with a more efficient system, I'm sure he'll spend the money.

Solar panel connections with split charge - a couple of questions

I already have a split charge system the uses a voltage sensing solenoid to auto connect when the starting battery voltage passes above a threshold, the controller for the solenoid also gives me the ability to manually connect the starting and houshold batteries if needed. (I have a Tmax split...

Rear arb bumper with tire carrier?

Hmmmm .... thanks for the info. I bought it second (in fact third) hand. When I first saw it, it was black and did have an ARB sticker on it, but then I guess anyone could have put that on. It was on a truck with the canopy I now have. I bought the canopy direct from the same owner when he...

    Digital journal for photographers?

I use Lightroom - set up libraries for each trip, then subdivide using keywords, flags, colours, metadata etc.. etc... very versatile. Must admit, never thought of linking to keywords from external sources, must be possible though, LR can do just about anything. Off to have a mess about and...

    Geometry and OME suspension

I've had an OME 2" lift on my UK Mits L200 for getting on for 8 years. The only thing that needed to be rechecked was the front wheel camber. Because of the double wishbone geometry and torsion bar set up, lifting the front by winding up the torsion bars will throw the camber out. Easily...

    Albright Solenoid wiring ?

Those wires will be fine, as long as you use them for triggering a relay that does the real work.
