Heater Core Finally out - Commentary

So finally had a chance to get the heater core out and changed in a 2000 Disco 2. Yes, its not for everyone, but if you are systematic and can fellow instructions as per Rave and not get frustrated then you can do it. First off, I do have to agree with several comments earlier by others that...

    Motor Fault Codes

For the temp shooting up so fast test for air in the cooling system. I had pretty much same thing happening, and it was air in the system. Bleed the system from air and hopefully that will solve the temp guage problem.

Heater Matrix Removal on 2000 D2

Went for a little hop out in the woods and it looks like the heater matrix finally gave up. I did notice I was loosing some coolant lately but couldn't find where. I guess I did find it, under the passenger side carpet. Is it possible to get the matrix out without removing the dash? or does the...

    Steel or Aluminum Skids

Wow. Thank you guys for all your input. I'm amazed and much appreciative off all the info. I wanted to try aluminum as I've always used steel on all my trucks, and this seemed to make sense. But thought I'd first check with everyone here to see their opinion, and comments. Aluminum fuel tank...

    Body Lift for Disco

It probably might weaken the structure a little bit, but I think it would have to do more with the tortional torque that is generated on the longer bolts. So the longer the bolts, the stronger they should be. By the way is lucky8 the only ones that make it for a D2. And has anyone installed...

    Body Lift for Disco

There are many advantages and disadvatages of a body lift. I guess one of the advatages would be the increase in space for bigger tires (yes 32's not 40's) without altering the drivetrain geometry. A disadvatage would be the slight complexity and stigma attached to them. Yes, I do agree...

    Overland Journal: Discovery I, 5-speed

Lol...Yup...Why can't we just get along? and I though Jeep guys knew everything. I think a few individuals are missing the point here. It started out as a discussion about bodylift and went to tires. Both of these are personal preferences depending on who uses the truck for what. But some...

    SLS Airbag Spacers

There are many reasons I like air springs. Actually, one of the resons I got the D2 because of this. Very frequently you see guys wheeling on these tough trails but they never carry anything. I usually hit the beaten path fully loaded. My last rig was a fully loaded JK with 2.5 inch lift and...
