great combination- Those screens are amazing. I took a 13 inch retina MBP, running LR5 on a recent trip to India- makes quick processing such a treat especially while the "feeling" is still fresh in your memory.

another article exploring the impact of smartphone photography

Nice article. With regards to change; I would have liked to have read his thoughts on our 'changing' perception of pictures, due the impact of the sheer volume of images being constantly created- and how that relates to what photos we are attracted to. I personally feel that a good image should...

Have been tardy posting to my favorite (only) online forum.....good to see people getting out, keeping at it. Here is a recent scene that caught my eye. Couple of plein air sketches. Only 6X8- any bigger and fingers would freeze off, :)

And yes, edit, burn, dodge, smudge and clone to your heart's content. :) Life is art.

    Random Scenic Shots

Absolutely! :) And have never been any less, I'm sure you'd agree. Just one tiny example if I may: Ultimately it's about being able to express what you see. Photography is so powerful in that it allows you to do that almost instantaneously. But the 'seeing' is still the extremely personal bit...

Thanks, ND grad filters are easy to pack and work great! Have a few more pictures from the trip I hope to get to, once work lets up. Rob, I have been trying to do one or two a month, mostly small sketches- I think it is such a great way to study color relationships etc. Actually this guy from...

Sony A7- first full frame mirrorless camera

Seems like the 7r's sensor is the same one in nikon's 800e. They do have a small offering of form-designed lenses for these, i'm sure adapters for other mounts will be available. But from what I'm reading, the the sensor may not align properly.

Sony A7- first full frame mirrorless camera

I suppose this was inevitable, cant wait to see IQ comparisions with FF DSLR counterparts. And with significant reduction in weight and size, as well as the body only price in the $16-2000 range...

Terrific composition Aaron. The sunlit portions work beautifully to pull your eye all the way in and back and in again. The rainbow is the cherry.

Thanks! Yes, so I'm limited with size. And clouds and shadows move, so you have to commit to a bit of memory :) The second one, it got dark, so I finished later and did use a photo of the sky to help me remember. Definitely low tech and nothing beats the unique rush of photography.

Thought I could contribute to the spirit of experimentation in this thread. :) by offering something a little different.. So early this summer, I pulled out one of my older tripods, and screwed a pochade box on to it. Given how much I enjoy capturing making pictures of the Michigan landscape...
