Just curious: can’t you import if prepared to pay the relevant any customs duties?

MITSUBISHI FUSO TRUCK to withdraw from US market

Had my Australian Isuzu NPS serviced, incl parts, by a Chevy dealer in Chile so I don’t imagine there is a problem with Isuzu servicing ‘Chevy’. Only issue might be parts for a gasoline engine variant? Ours has the 5.2L diesel which seems to be in global use in the N series and/or heavier F series.

Back in time, when overland was called adventure.

Haven’t had a chance to view the video but I’m sure it’s good. Went to an Adventure Film festival in Bright, Australia a couple of years back and saw a film about a group from UK who travelled to Australia in 1969 in a double decker bus. Amazing experiences...

Total Composites Camper on Mitsubishi Fuso FG walk through

Well I thought it looked like an excellent build......and nothing like an EC.

    Big custom camper sightings

Just curious because I’m driving one: does Isuzu have 4x4 trucks available in USA? The Iveco Daily 4x4 introduced into Australia around 2015 has had lots of problems. The truck often looks greener from the other side.

    FUSO CANTER Reliability Issues

Marcus Tuck writes a very informative blog and knows his stuff, well worth reading, but I‘m sure his Iveco does not use DEF if that’s the issue.

    Cooked batteries

I take it you mean disconnect the VSR between the batteries. But I understand this is how the house batteries are charged from the alternator. The VSR hasn’t caused me any problems in the past. Posted the schematic again.

    Cooked batteries

Need some advice on possibly modifying the charging setup for our camper which uses a Victron Centaur charger and Victron battery monitor. We have 2x150ah AGM house batteries for 24V and 2 x Optima AGM for 24V for the truck; as in the pic below. The truck has been in storage for a while during...

    Danfoss BD50 repair

Thanks for the responses. Checked the refrigerant after a fashion when I thought I’d test it by letting out a little gas....and found there wasn’t any. Bone dry. The fridge failed towards the end of our travels last year after we had some electrical problems. The compressor wouldn’t run and...

    Danfoss BD50 repair

Need advice on Danfoss BD50 compressor repair. Fridge failed/stopped some time back; I suspected failed electronic control unit and replaced with a suitable module. The fridge compressor now runs and indications are power is normal but the evaporator is not cooling at all. The compressor gets...

    Legality Of Tyre Size

No, I don't think so Dave, trucks above 4500kg are already subject to annual inspection in QLD and the heavy vehicles also have sporadic roadside checks with QLD TMR officers. I'm not really across this push by QLD police but it seems to be targeted at the 4wd crowd with their suspensions lifts...

    A camper worth waiting for

We've kept our 6 tonne camper on QLD registration while travelling overseas since 2013. We (and others) have an arrangement with QLD Transport to have an inspection completed overseas, email back a copy and receive a 'Reciprocal Certificate of Inspection'. We can then renew online using the...

    Fuso Canter versus Isuzu

Sorry for the delay, been travelling. My truck had the DPF removed (plus EGR disabled and 20% power boost) at Patchworks Engine Tuning near Linz, Austria in 2015. Cost was about $1200 AUD all up. One issue at first was possibly inadequate fuel pressure/flow - there was an 'engine miss' of...

    FG's in Action

Hi John. A bit cheaty on the flags - easy to collect through Europe and surrounds. We shipped to Uruguay in May this year and now well into our second trip down through Argentina and Chile. It's a long drive south but great to be in less developed country again, freecamping all the time. The...

Pop top or hard side dilemma

Good choice. Add reliability/simplicity to the positives. We have ongoing issues with our roof lift; I'd love to upgrade the actuators but not so simple or cheap once you're overseas, not to mention expensive. Hard sides for us next time.

    FG's in Action

Camp for the night....looks idyllic but it's off the road edge and blowing 80kmh/50mph. Deleted attachment But the view next morning was worth it...Perito Moreno glacier. Don't see many of these at home.

Advice needed on hydronic heating problem

Thanks Joe. A good tip for next time but sometimes it's the simple things. Went to put some air in the tyres this afternoon and found the compressor wasn't running either. Lightbulb moment Found the 24V cab supply had been switched off - I checked fuses yesterday but...
