    2002 Tahoe "Expedition" build

Thanks so much for the fandom! No way I can even think about replacing her, for one I can't even approach affording something new(er) , and I have too much of my own blood, sweat and (some) tears to consider letting it go. Invested a ton of sweat equity in the about 18 years I have owned it.

    2002 Tahoe "Expedition" build

Thanks for checking in! Nothing too dramatic to report. I now am a foster for the German Shepherd rescue where I got Maggie from. So helping out with the dogs (11 so far since I started ) keeps me very occupied. Also been very busy in the area doing odds and ends for folks, the Tahoe has been a...

Look at Crazy Drei's build on a Suburban, he stuffed serious meats ( bigger than 35 but can't remember exactly ) under his rig with some sheet metal modifications. Kept the IFS

    ImNoSaint's Tahoe Build

I had to ditch my Defender rack to get my Tahoe to fit in the garage in my new home, I ended up buying the same type of rack as yours, just need to take the time to figure out how to get it set up. Love what you have done with this rig.

    2002 Tahoe "Expedition" build

After losing Diogi I was without a dog in my life for the first time in almost 25 years. So I rescued another German Shepherd, she is about 3 years old and she has been a great companion, adores travelling around in "HER" Tahoe and taking hikes with me on the innumerable trails in the Cherokee...

    2002 Tahoe "Expedition" build

At my hew home I finally have a garage! But the minor downside is that I had to remove my roof basket to make the Tahoe fit inside. Thankfully I still had leftover Yakima bars from my old car and they mounted up just fine to the factory rails so I can carry my kayak. So, if anyone is interested...

    2002 Tahoe "Expedition" build

So, on one of my trips back and forth to see family, I was returning to TN rolling down Interstate 81 when my " SECURITY " light came on. And my Scan Gauge 2 stopped showing any signal from the ECU. I pulled over to the first available rest stop, just a couple miles away and popped the hood...

    2002 Tahoe "Expedition" build

After arriving here in TN my beloved dog, my retired police K9 that had served with me at the end of my career, was diagnosed with a tumor in his sinus cavity. We attempted to fight the horrible disease with radiation but the cancer was too aggressive. Our oncologist veterinarian told me he only...

    2002 Tahoe "Expedition" build

Been a good while since I have had time to do an update, so many things have happened in my life it's hard to keep track. And then for whatever reason I could not log into this site using either I.E. nor Opera, today I downloaded Brave and was finally able to get back in. So, I have moved to...

Anyone know where to get these style cell phone mounts?

    ImNoSaint's Tahoe Build

Seriously nice work on your rig. The only thing missing from your doggie area is a spill proof water bowl Edit to add - you may even want to consider some K9 unit style window guards for your pups, you can keep the windows down while the car is parked knowing your pups will not be able to get...

Anyone put a 270' awning on Chevy Tahoe?

Probably better off mounting an actual basket or deck of some kind onto the factory rails and then mount an awning to that. Not a great deal of real estate on the factory rails and crossbars for mounting something like an awning to. There was a member here developing metal brackets that could...

    GMT900 Overland build anyone?

For the 2000 to 2006 at least, the 4.8 was an available option for the Tahoe. I test drove one around 2004. The 5.3 was a noticeable improvement in performance over the 4.8 and thus I refined my shopping to the 5.3. IMHO, the 5.3 for the Tahoe is plenty adequate, especially with my Black Bear...

In search of new adventure vehicle for family of 4 and a couple of pups.

X2 on either an Excursion or Suburban. For me the 2000 to 2006 Tahoe / Suburban were the last of the true truck - like Chevrolet SUVs with real metal bumpers front and rear, so I am a little biased towards them. That said I got to drive an Excursion as a rental vehicle years ago and was very...

    2002 Tahoe "Expedition" build

Just a minor maintenance update: In October 2019 I installed a catch can on the engine, having seen enough videos that show they do work at preventing oil from getting into the intake. My can had a viewing tube to monitor oil capacity, but no media in it to trap the oil. Perhaps it intended to...

    Requesting some advice on Suburban

Hi there, welcome aboard. The 14 bolt axle is an indicator of a 2500 series truck. They would also have an 8 bolt pattern on the wheels. It all depends on the price of the sale if you were to go ahead and buy it or not. The mileage is about "mid" life for these Chevy trucks, with proper care...

If you keep the 'burb, you may want to keep the window guards. Consider it stout anti-theft protection for items in the rig.

I would contact any local small police agencies in your region and see if they would want the prisoner cage parts. Many of those small places have practically zero budget for equipment like that and may be happy to repurpose it.
