    Black Bear and Lockers

This!! Seriously, if you have to ask a question like that, Black Bear Pass isn't a trail you should even consider.

JK Wrangler 3.8l vs 3.6l Pentastar

Own both, a 2009 JKUR with 35" Nitto's and 4.10's and a 2012 JKUR with 37" Toyo's and 3.73's (so the 2012 is running presently with a meaningful gearing disadvantage versus the 2009). Both auto's. There is absolutely no comparison between the two, the 2012 is better in every single way...

What coilover + long arm system works with Hutchinson Rock Monsters @4.63 backspacing

Coilovers require less backspacing because of the added space necessary for the shock/coils to clear the frame and the tire at full stuff, something that isn't a concern with a traditional coilspring/shock lift. I'll be surprised if you find something short of a full custom set-up that'll work...

how heavily is is jeep modified? how much do you have into it?

I'm scared to add it all up, especially with all the parts on order or sitting in the garage presently. PSC BFH Front Bumper w/ Brawler Bar, TJM Winch, 10" Rigid SR2 Hyperspot on bumper, Rigid D2 Driving Lights on A Pillars PSC Crusher Corners, Brawler Rockers, and Crusher Flares, ATX Slabs...

Who makes these rear corner protectors

If you want armor, Genright, EVO, and Poison Spyder all make a high quality product. If you want to be able to reach your roof rack and have something to stand on, I'd suggest looking at one of the steel fender armor options out there that braces to the substructure of your jeep (meaning it...

Aftermarket Seats for Jeep, any good ones out there?

Mastercraft and PRP both make a very nice suspension seat as does Corbeau. Of those, I'm partial to the Mastercraft Rubicons but if you're looking for something less aggressive I'd 2nd the recommendation of the Mastercraft Baja RS's.

Need opinions on AEV suspension/tire upfgrade

If you haven't driven JK's equipped with lifts from Rock Krawler, Synergy, Metalcloak, or EVO, I suggest you try each out prior to spending any money on an AEV lift. All ride better on-road and perform better off-road as compared to the AEV. The AEV lift isn't a bad lift, I wouldn't put it in...

    Brandon Libby's 2dr JK build

The 951 was fun. Cory did a great job with the initial stock class build, too good probably, and it just got more fun as we stripped it down, built up the engine, and turned it into a competitive GT3 car. The 996, what can I say, it was frustrating from day one. Fastest car in the in-field at...

    Brandon Libby's 2dr JK build

Small world. Gordon and crew built and maintained all my racecars from PCA (bought Cory's old car) right up through quite a few years running in the old Grand-Am Cup (Porsche 996) that Cory co-drove with me.

    4 door Rubicon Phoenix Camper

The longer wheelbase of the 4 door JKU makes it a superior platform offroad in many situations. It's why you see so many JKs with comp cut rears and the rear axles pushed back. It vastly improves their climbing ability as well as their stability offroad. That and the increased load carrying...

    Steering Stabilizers. What's good?

Is your jeep lifted? Have you addressed the change in steering geometry? From your description it sounds like you're experiencing bumpsteer. That isn't fixed with a steering stabilizer. You need to correct the relative orientation of your track bar and drag link and the bump steer will...

Suspension solution for a very heavy 2007 JKU

2013 jk rubicon unlimited tire/suspension questions

Decide on a tire size and whether you want to run stock or flat fenders. With that info you can settle on a lift height. And from there, it really depends on what you want to use your JK for which lift you go with. I've run 37's with flat fenders and a budget boost (took some trimming in the...

Ozark Overland Rally (The beginning) March 28th-30th

I'd wager everyone used a map, if for no other reason than to identify the waypoints as we were only given lats and longs. Doubtful even locals would have been able to identify the waypoints without a map or GPS. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ozark Overland Rally (The beginning) March 28th-30th

The "ideal" time part if the OOR was by far the worst part of the Event. With no clue as to route, there was no way to even approximate an average speed which meant no way to figure time. Even with 2 broken trackbar mounts and taking two horrifically difficult trails, the Garrett Overland team...

    What vehicle to purchase?

Oh, mines clearly overkill for what you're looking for which is why I made the recommendations I did. You should be able to pick up a 2012, the RK lift, and tires for sub $30k without too much difficulty. What that route does is give you a lot more options for the future than any of the other...

    What vehicle to purchase?

Find a solid 2012 JKU Rubicon with a hard top (it's far cheaper to buy one with a hard top and add a soft top later than to buy one with a soft top and add a hard top later). It's the best option by far, especially when compared to the other vehicles in your list. 33's on stock wheels. 1.5"...

Completed Vector EXO Rack Install for 4G Rotopax

Subscribed, will be following this closely. Have looked at the EXO Rack several times and have held off due to worries about weight, especially when running a 37's tire on Beadlocks. But I've got some ideas to shore up the tailgate and depending on how that goes and the EXO Racks performance...
