    Short Trips around Kentucky

Thanks for the comments! The roads in the gorge are a mixture of county roads which vary from paved to a dirt trail, forest service roads which are almost always highly maintained gravel and private roads which are often on oil leased land and can vary from maintained to rock crawler status...

    Short Trips around Kentucky

Spaas Creek Road I find it funny how one gets attached to objects. Inanimate things that cant reciprocate any of the affection or care that you put into them. Vehicles are probably the worst with this. They take you places, they represent freedom and are often the gateway to new experiences...

    Short Trips around Kentucky

Many of the roads are decommissioned county roads which puts a bit of ambiguity on their legality. Many of these roads have become easements as multiple property owners may use them to access their land, hence the lack of gates. Unfortunately the area is often abused by locals, tearing up...

    Short Trips around Kentucky

On we went.. The road continued on, surrounded on both sides by the land where my ancestors lived and walked, we crossed the creek a few more times Our goal for the day was to reach an old cemetery where generations of family members where interned. There was once a church there but...

    Short Trips around Kentucky

A trip back Late last summer we re-visited a place that I have gone many times. This place holds more then the pull of unpaved roads that draw you in as they require more then mindless motoring. Its a place that was legend in my mind, growing up on epic stories of life and survival in this...

    Short Trips around Kentucky

Hello, I though I would give it a try and post some of our short local Kentucky trips. I have really not done much in the way of posting trip reports as most places I have been seem rather ordinary and mundane in comparison to the well written and professional photographed trip reports that I...

2001 Discovery 2 questions - Do I have ACE? and when was the switch to 4.6L?

Front right on out put housing is the short threaded stud which engages cdl. This one came out of a 2000 model and I installed it in my 03. The 4.6 engine came out in the 2003 model.

01 Disco - transfer case issues need help

How do you replace the passenger compartment fuse block in a D2?

Here is how I fixed mine without changing the fuse block. Copy and pasted from some ones write up. Like some on this forum, I had an intermittent working blower that finally died. One of the fixes (for some) from past threads was to install a new fuse box. Somehow the connection through the...

Is a 100 series the right vehicle for me?

I think The 100 series is plenty big. I see this same mindset all the time when it comes to space, its a modern concept that everyone needs their own room. I think this can really be traced back to the much smaller modern family, familys are smaller then ever while houses and cars are bigger...
