What will happen sooner... a Ford Gas vs Diesel dilema

Your 6.2 must be broken, because the 6.2 is not a pig. After the 7.3, it's easily my favorite gas engine for a pickup. Maybe you were thinking of the 5.4l? Check your state of tune, and fuel quality. 87 might cause the engine to pull timing in some areas, if the fuel is poor. 91 makes...

I may have to switch from Ford 6.2 to Ram 6.4 :'(

Do whatever you want to. I wouldn't. Learning to navigate such things in the big trucks is enjoyable to me, not stressful. Give me my crew cab cab dually. I'm game.

    2020 F250 7.3 10 spd rear diff order question

Gomers can fix a trans. Dealers can only replace them. Most of the best technicians go to work for themselves. Better pay, and they can refuse jobs that they hate doing. The remainder, actually like being at a dealer. But they ain't the majority. 99% of failed transmissions at a...

I may have to switch from Ford 6.2 to Ram 6.4 :'(

No. The OP is going to trade in a perfectly good truck because of a driveway switchback. It's not a three point turn in the middle of the interstate. And I have no idea why snow, or the lack of it would make any difference. That is completely ridiculous. I've heard weirder reasons to...

    Jeep to F150 HD SCREW...

That white was copied from GM. But GM doesn't use it anymore? It's a blue tint, not the usual yellow tint. I love that torch red as well. Both look great with black wheels and accessories.

    2020 F250 7.3 10 spd rear diff order question

Sounds like the wrong truck for that boat and trailer. Isn't that more like F350DRW land? If it fit's within the F250's tow window, 4.30 and 37's is going to suck a bit. 4.88 would be optimal. 35's on 4.30 might be a much wiser solution for you.

I may have to switch from Ford 6.2 to Ram 6.4 :'(

No. A cam should last the life of the long block. I'd just do a three point turn. Or go in wider and cut harder. Quit being lazy. I'd go diesel if you switch to Ram. But this IS officially the stupidest reason I've ever heard of. My Ram turns much wider than my Ford. But the Ram is...

    New Defender Rage/Hate Thread

A thread titled ''Surprized my land rover broke down again'', would have 300 pages by now. They're in stock at Bedford, Ohio already: https://www.kiaofbedford.com/2019-Kia-Soul-in-Bedford-Ohio.html

    It's Bronc o clock

I'm betting on very soft rear springs. That's the limiting factor. People switching from a F150 to an Expedition were startled that the Expy has a stiffer ride. Because of weight up high, it required stiffer springs to be safe and pass the roll over testing. Soft springs and towing...

They're putting flower stickers on the defender already? Lol. Looks small next to that Cherokee.

    Full size truck considerations

38g, IIRC. I can get up to 17 hwy empty. 15 is normal. With a camperchute, I'd expect about 11-13.

    Full size truck considerations

F250 ain't bad with a camper on it's back if it's a Crew Cab. You'll need better shocks though. Might be the cheapest option on your list as well.

    New Defender News

Tfl testing trucks on marbles again. Nothing wrong with it, but it's a bit of luck. They did demonstrate the dramatic difference between good line, bad line, with the Glad.

    New Defender Rage/Hate Thread

It might not. That's not going to make me want to buy the most disappointing new design of this decade though.

    It's Bronc o clock

Just because there's an epic ton of shmucks that can't properly setup an RV for towing, doesn't make a SWB better than long. A regular cab, long bed Super Duty tows fine, the crew cab version tows far better. Crew cab DRW is a magnitude better than that. If a Wranglers tow rating matters...

    It's Bronc o clock

I'm voting that wheelbase has a major effect on towing stability. 1,000,000 miles towing with pickups and crappy vans, and that's my experience. Weight, wheelbase, and towing under half your trucks rating is key. You can push GVWR a little, but never max the tow rating. I wouldn't tow...

    Slide-in campers & half-ton pickups: GMC Sierra AT4

Is that tailgate really easier to climb, than a good set of purpose built camper steps? It doesn't look it. Steps and doors can be the difference between a comfortable camper, and something that feels like roughing it. I'm 6'3'', so the ''porches''often make it harder for me to duck into...

Can I use 2 MaxTrax to drive up 9” (90 degree) vertical curb?

My truck, even when stock could clear that easy. Go at an angle, one wheel at a time. But.........it is a construction site. You don't want your hitch to slam down an scratch new pavement. Go slow, or find a chunk of 4x4 wood so that it's a steep hill, not a drop off. There's always...

What generation 7.3L F250/F350 is better to start with?

98-05. There was a year or so when Ford offered both the 6.0 and the 7.3. Those were the best 7.3 trucks, but the 01-03 7.3's might have been the best 7.3 engines. I think that these years have the Ram beat as well. A manual Trans diesel Ram isn't bad though. Gas or auto Rams of...
