Got alittle more time today so I made some more brackets for the lift shocks. Looks like I'll have plenty of room up top for sleeping and can even sit up straight under the end of the room. Don't mind the rear door I have better shocks on order for it. It was fine when I started but with...

I was going to do a full pop up top but because of time constraints I decided just hinge from the front, hopefully that will be enough room. Just made some simple hinges and now just waiting on the gas struts to show up.

Thanks, it has definitely been the learning experience so far. I have 4 3/8" bolts two on each side that go through the bottom 2x4 through the top of the bed. Also have some smaller fasteners in the back upright 2x4s into the bed. Yeah originally I went with wood since it was alot cheaper...

Has been pretty slow lately, been fixing mechanical issues with the truck, as well as the issue of wood being 4x it's regular price has really but a damper on my motivation. I have got most of the foam board in, just need to put it in the roof.

Got the floor in and started putting in the insulation for the walls. Insulation is 1.5" foam board and I'm gluing it in, the skin was only 1/4 plywood but together with the foam has really taken the flex out of the skin.

Thanks, it is turning out pretty good, took it on its first trip about 100 miles down the free way and it held up just fine. I did find one small leak on the top when it rains alot. I added I couple more layers of paint in that area to see it would seal up. It also survived a hailstorm with just...

Thanks, it turned out well, but there were some mistakes that I made that I am hoping that I can fix. Got the rear door on. Still need a latching mechanism and had to trim it a bit since the opening changed size when I mounted it on the truck.

Thanks. It's definitely coming along. Thanks, yeah this isn't to heavy yet. I was able to load it on the truck by myself for as test fit.

With the theme of keeping it cheap I used some oops paint to load up the canvas, it of course was a horrible color. Will top coat it with something better. Also got the pass through cut, kids are going to love being able to crawl into the back.

Got a bit more done on it, doing poor man's fiberglass to keep it waterproof, first time I have done it I'll see how it holds up.

So I I wanted something that would keep stuff in the bed dry, camp in and still be able to fit full size lumber in for house projects. So i started with some leftover lumber and it kinda grew from there. I thought of adding the pop up portion later so that's why it's a little out of place. It...
