How do you lace your hikers?

Bought a pair of lightweight boots. How do you lace yours? I've always laced mine as shown below but now wondering if there's a better way. Note that these do not have a speedlace. http://www.magnumboots.com/ca/boots/professional/109/stealth-force-80/

    Just bought a kayak

Jut bought a gently used (2 year old) Feel Free Moken 10 from a friend. Hoping to use it a couple of times this year.

    M101CDN capacity - exceded

Had 2100 pounds of screened loam in my 500 pound capacity trailer (per riveted on tag). Didn't take a picture. It was full to the rim but not overflowing. Should have put more air in the tires rather that 30 psi that was in them. Didn't think load range E tires could flatten out like...

Balancing - Trailer wheel and tire

Looking for an opinion here. Will likely be replacing the Michelin XLsomethings that came with trailer with new tires. Should the trailer tire/wheel combo be balanced or is it not necessary when mounting new tires?

    TJM bumper mod

Just got a "New to me" TJM bumper. The winch and winch mounting plate I've had for a while. While I can mount the winch horizonally in the bumper and forget about it, I would like to mount the winch in such a way that it would be accessible from the top of bumper. This would involve...

    Safari snorkel - upkeep

What do you guys do to make sure that piece of black plastic lasts and looks good? Do you treat it with anything special? Are there any manufacturer's recommendations with regards to upkeep? :) Mine still looks pretty good after 5 years but I'd hate to whack it with a hammer to see if it is...

    Conqueror tent pegs

Does anyone have a picture of the tent/tarp pegs that came with your Conqueror trailer? Friend of mine is in SA and can get me some but I may not be properly describing what I want. They're the ones that are tension loaded andmain parts are at about 90° to each other

Mounting RTT over the cab on Yak bars

I've had my Hannibal RTT mounted on a custom rack over the bed for the past 3 years. But I just put the canopy back on the truck since enclosed bed space is a priority once again. I don't think the canopy will take the weight without additional internal support, so that's out as a mounting...

    Engel power consumption curves

Since I just became an owner of a slightly used Engel 60 fridge, I decided to look at the Engel site a little closer. Ambient temp vs fridge temp and amperage draw curves are posted for some of the fridges. Unfortunately, the links to 40 and 45 are dead. 60...

    Trailer mod Q

I have a M101CDN trailer. Been thinking of unbolting the A frame and welding it to the front of the trailer box frame. It would give me more space on the front of the trailer for propane and battery. Any thoughts or suggestions?

    Hannibal ladder mod

The ladder on my Hannibal tent is a 2 piece unit. One half is attached to the tent and the other half is loose. Got a little tired of the 2 pieces pulling out of each other. Drilled 2 small holes through the uprights and used a locking pin (probably not what it's called) to hold the ladder...

    12 volt blanket - garage pre-test

Bought a 12 volt blanket this week. Made by "Justin Case". It's 36" x 56", has 30 and 45 minute timer and no information whatsoever as far as current draw. It's about -5°C in the garage and the voltages were measure either at battery rest or immediately after blanket shut off. The battery is...

    Tubes in trailer tires

I have an old (1992) M101CDN with Michelin XL(something) tires that have no wear on them. They're load range E, plenty for 2 trailers. Since the tires are at least 17 years old, should I: 1. Put tubes in the tires and run them or 2. Get new tires or 3. Run tires as is :smiley_drive:

BFG AT vs. Yokohama ITG072 snow tire

We finally had some wet heavy snow today. Temp is a few degrees below freezing and about 4-6 inches on the ground. Went for a drive in my 2000 Frontier with BFG AT 235-85/16's and then took the wife's 2000 Xterra out with 31-10.50/15 Yokohama snow tires. Hubs locked and shifter making good...

    Tent storage for winter

It was time to take the tent off the back of the truck and put it away. Last year's method of putting it by the wall in the living room did not meet with complete approval by my wife. :yikes: This year is a little different. At home depot picked up 4 of these folding brackets. They screw...

    Got a new grill

Just bought what seems to be a Lodge Outpost grill. Why "seems to be" ? Because it was sitting on the shelf without a box and was the last one in stock. It's about 12" in diameter and heavy as "H E double hockey sticks". Will be trying it in the back yard tomorrow - marinated pork loin...

Our little camping trip from HE - double hockey sticks

Took my daughter camping for a few days. Only 45 minutes from my house. http://cn4xc.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/1841008361/m/9311005613 At first, all was fine. Then small hail started. Then it became bigger. Then it looked like a thousand golfers were targeting one small field and loonie size...
