Trailer setup - Solar Gen or dedicated battery

Any idea on cost comparison to build a simple system for my power needs vs. a Bluetti EB70S ( BLUETTI EB70S Portable Power Station | 800W 716Wh (bluettipower.com) ) or say an EcoFlow River 2 Pro ( EcoFlow RIVER 2 Pro Portable Power Station - EcoFlow US ). I definitely like the easy, compact...

Trailer setup - Solar Gen or dedicated battery

You already have a power setup/second battery in your rig already? And then did a second system (Bluetti) on your trailer? If you already have one in your rig, mind sharing how you have it set up? What components there are? I plan on having about a 20" wide by 36" tall area to work with for the...

Trailer setup - Solar Gen or dedicated battery

I'm trying to figure out if there are other components that I'm not thinking of/that I need for this setup. Also trying to get input if a single deep cycle or 2 6V batteries are going to offer better results at a better price. Not looking to go hog wild, bringing every kitchen gadget with us so...

Trailer setup - Solar Gen or dedicated battery

There's lots of info out there which I've spent a lot of time reading...but i'd like to get some clarification to keep my sanity. In the process of building a little gear hauler trailer. We currently have a cooler, but will someday upgrade to a fridge. The things that we'd need to power are...

Half Torsion axle + idler hub question

I'm in Idaho, Nampa to be exact. I've look at the various axle options and would like to go with the half torsion for extra clearance/independent suspension aspect of it. I've sourced some options in the 3,500lb range. The dilemma I have now is to either get some with electric brakes and run...

Half Torsion axle + idler hub question

Looking to start a trailer build soon and I'm going to be using some half torsion axles. I have a 5th gen 4Runner that I'd like to run Toyota wheels on the trailer as well to have spares on hand etc. Most of the 2-3,500lb axles come in a 5x4.5 bolt pattern. Instead of running wheel adapters...

New member looking for vehicle advice.

Looking at just 2 videos, one of each, Waiparous looks like a gorgeous place to visit and the overall trail didn't seem too technical or needing a high end rig. McLean looked like it had a bit more off camber situations though. If budget is a concern and you'd like to use the rig as a daily as...

What kinds of trails do your buddies do? TorqueMaster(s) now offer a rear locker for Subarus as well. There's a few videos of them on YouTube in action. A Forester would have better approach/departure angles, but I like the Outback overall. Subies you gotta keep an eye on weight though, but...

Don't get too caught up in the price of fuel between vehicles. Once it is paid off, to me, the price difference between vehicles isn't as "oh my gosh you get 10 mpg vs 20mpg!". Let's say your rig gets 15mpg and you drive it 5,000 miles a year @ $3 a gallon. You've spent $1,000 in gas. Now, you...

    Let's talk lifts (2013 Tacoma)

I wouldn’t build your truck with a super suspension and big tires for just one trail. If you see yourself needing those things for multiple trails that you do at least a few times a year then go for it. Most people could easily get away with a mild lift and tires for 97.62927% of what they do...

    building a 2009 tacoma

255/85/16 tires as stated in the other thread about lifts for a Tacoma. Just be aware that going larger tires and hauling tools/mowers and gear your MPG will suffer and power may be less than ideal when loaded down so a possible re-gear could be in the works for you.

    Let's talk lifts (2013 Tacoma)

Bed racks are another thing that can be done without. Some buy then to complete that “hey look at me I ‘overland’” look. They’re cool, but sometimes can be overkill. There is a guy on TacomaWorld who just built his own, all bolt on 80-20 aluminum extrusion which cost him around $300 I believe...

    Let's talk lifts (2013 Tacoma)

Plenty of people go off-road without a lifted Tacoma. Think about where you want to go and what the limitations may be. Sure, lofted Tacos with meatier tires looks great, but will it really get used like it should. You said you aren’t a looks guy though... Figure out the terrain you’d like to...

Too bad there wasn't enough demand Suzuki to keep going... my cousin was just in Germany and posted this to his FB.

    Just bought a 2013 Tacoma SR5

Plenty of Taco owners use em’ without the factory TRD Off-Road model’s locker. The TRD Sport doesn’t have a locker either. Heck, people take the PreRunner 2wd version off-road as well. Just get some good tires and know your truck’s limita and your own.

New shoes for my Taco...Need recommendations

Falkens are widely used by Taco enthusiasts on Tacomaworld.com. By people who are on street, overlanding, weekendering and even some of the more serious off-roaders.

    2000 Monty

So in our endeavors of finding an interim family car... We were browsing little lots in our new city that we just moved to. There we were cruising through this little dirt car lot, when from out behind a white van, the front end of a Montero peaks out. I start getting excited, as I pull a little...

    Which van for us?

Mostly a people hauler, unless we can fit 4 capt chairs and a bench seat and still have some space.... Not looking for a 15 passenger though. Also, not fans of Excursions or Burbs... But surprisingly vans are growing on us, at least those more rugged looking ones :)

    Which van for us?

wife and I are looking at getting a van down the road to turn into our expo type vehicle. Originally wanted a Montero, but the wife likes the van idea better. Vans have been growing on me so gonna do some more digging. What we need: Room for 5-7. Current family size is 2 adults, two kids ...

Anyone in Bend/Utah to look at these finds

Ya the one in Utah has lockers... But I'm more concerned with the better deal right now. As stated I can always add lockers later. The one in Bend is at Fairway Motors. Hopefully someone looks on here and is close enough to go check them out :)
