2020 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-X pop-up slide-in pickup camper (renamed "Back Country" as of 2023)

The screws will go into the panel material of the Camp-X, the foam core panels. Existing screws that attach the fan to the foam core on the inside of the camper are loose, so when I remove the existing fan, I know there will be very little for the new screws to bite into when I install the new...

2020 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-X pop-up slide-in pickup camper (renamed "Back Country" as of 2023)

Well, I need to replace the fan. Can anyone recommend a tape and sealant for installing the new fan? Also, it appears some of the interior screws holding the existing fan are not biting into the panels very well. Basically stripped out of the panel?? Is there an epoxy or something I can use to...

2020 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-X pop-up slide-in pickup camper (renamed "Back Country" as of 2023)

Arnold at OEV is sending me spacers that go behind the roof latches to eliminate the alignment issue in my roof. They responded within an hour of inquiry, pretty solid outfit.

The front left corner is misaligned the same amount as the rear left corner, so the roof is the same size as the camper. It does appear it's just misaligned. I will check the window alignment, but I haven't noticed that as an issue. I have 2 gas struts on each side of the camper or 4 gas struts...

2020 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-X pop-up slide-in pickup camper (renamed "Back Country" as of 2023)

No amount of wiggling or anything else will get my top to line up. I just can't get the back left buckle to be usable. It was always a bit off, but now it's basically a 3 latch camper top. It's like the entire top is a bit twisted.

2020 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-X pop-up slide-in pickup camper (renamed "Back Country" as of 2023)

I drop the front first and then the rear and often drop the rear twice as I did notice the alignment was better when I lower it the second time. I will try the wiggle technique tonight. Thanks again! Yes, all of the top hooks rusted pretty fast.

The clamp down bracket (back left) does not line up correctly and often I can't get it to fasten. This has practically been the case since I bought the camper. Anyone know a fix? Also, stinks they rust so easily. See pic. Thanks!

2020 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-X pop-up slide-in pickup camper (renamed "Back Country" as of 2023)

I would go HD all the way. Granted I'm in a diesel F350, but I'm getting ~16mpg (overall mileage) and my truck doesn't know the Camp-X is there. I never worry about weight and my shocks, brakes, etc. will last longer than if I was pushing the weight envelope in a 1/2 ton. I have plans to drive...

Thanks for the heads up on the Truma Chad! I'm going to try that out! Also, I will remove the fan this weekend and inspect it. Maybe I can epoxy, but I see new fans are ~$200, so I will probably go that route.

Couple of questions. Does the Truma hot water heater only operate in eco mode? I thought there was a true on demand? With that said, can you only get hot water out of the sink on full open? I wish there was a way to trickle hot water instead of just full blast before it gets to hot mode. On a...

2020 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-X pop-up slide-in pickup camper (renamed "Back Country" as of 2023)

Chadx, I'm sorry if you covered this before, but is there an easy way to disconnect (or turn off) the power consumption when the camper is stored for a few weeks? I store my truck camper in the garage and if I don't plug it in, the battery goes to 1%. It's a lithium battery. Honestly, I'm...

Can anyone recommend the best replacement struts for my 2020 Camp-X? I think winter camping has taken a toll on mine. The most pounds of lift available would be nice.

Thanks for the replies regarding raising the roof. I think I will move the box forward and give it a try. Also, if you have a sketch of this leverage device you mocked up, I would love to see it. Shawn

2020 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-X pop-up slide-in pickup camper (renamed "Back Country" as of 2023)

I put a rocket box on the camp-x and with no gear it's still pretty heavy to lift. I put the box in the rear, opposite the solar panel. Do you think this is the best spot? Also, are there better struts I could use to help? I have a 2021 Camp-X. Also, it doesn't take much snow to make the roof...

Could anyone recommend a small tool kit for the Camp-X? I believe most if not all of the parts are English, not Metric. Is that correct? I haven’t needed a tool set yet, but I know the day will come.

2020 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-X pop-up slide-in pickup camper (renamed "Back Country" as of 2023)

My Camp-X has rubber footings around the perimeter and was not intended to sit on horse mats. However, my F350 has a higher cab than most 1/2 ton trucks and I needed to add horse mats for clearance. It appears the mats and rubber footers are compressing more close to the cab and I just needed to...

2020 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-X pop-up slide-in pickup camper (renamed "Back Country" as of 2023)

Does anyone's Camp-X sit lower compared to the truck bed rail closer to the cab than compared to the truck bed rail near the tailgate? When I measure from the bottom of the camper to the truck bed rail it's 3/4" less clearance close to the cab compared to the same clearance between the truck bed...
