Great trip report. DV is amazing. I can feel your pain on the uncertainty of driving on snow in the middle of nowhere. I've only done it a few times and really don't look forward to doing it again. Prepared or not, there seems to be a thinner line between failure and success..

Sorry for the late response... but yes, I currently live in R.B. but am relocating to San Elijo Hills in Oct. Can't wait to get away from the I15. I work in Solana Beach so it's not unusual for me to catch some sweet sunsets.

Very interesting and unique vehicles. The Moab photo is insane! I have only seen a handfull of them in Southern California and I have always been very interested in them. They do seem like a good platform for expedition travel.
