LX470 PPI Issues - One time fixes or longer term?

Only thing i would say for the r+p is don't get a parts store one. Go with a Toyota Re-man or OEM rack. You'll get pretty mixed reviews on the parts store ones, but mostly it's that they don't last that long especially if you wheel the truck at all. And they come with crappy inner tie rods that...

LX470 PPI Issues - One time fixes or longer term?

Wait, are you just using an impact with a small socket that fits around the studs to release them instead of hammering the flange with brass drifts? Hot damn that's so much easier. Bearings should be good if maintained, but mine had very few maintenance records for bearing re-packing when I...

LX470 PPI Issues - One time fixes or longer term?

Fortunately it's all pretty straight forward. Just usually messy and needs some or a lot elbow grease. Like the wheel bearings. Getting those damn cone washers off is always a PITA. And banging out the old bearing races/ in new ones and re-packing bearings is messy but strangely satisfying.

LX470 PPI Issues - One time fixes or longer term?

Steering Rack is pretty common thing to need replaced on a high mileage/ older vehicle. Oil pan is not a common issue with 100's, likely it's just due to age. Neither are show stoppers. Not sure how they are arriving at $930 for a power steering hose though, that's way too much. Steering rack is...

    Roof Rack/Bars for 100 Series

Cheapest way to go about it is find a used stock one. If you want bars that are a little less flimsy than stock you can use some 80/20 extrusion with 15 series t-nuts in the factory rails to secure it (that's what Prinsu etc all use for their bars) or go even more economical and use some...

New Motor For Land Cruiser 100 Series

Find another 4.7. No need to change the wheel here. The bonus is you could easily do the major PM with engine out and then throw it in for piece of mind. That engine should last for a long time with very minor maintenance, and timing belt/water pump/ tensioner/ fan bracket done at 90k intervals.

Northern Tool 4ft Overland Trailer Build

You're going to want to gusset those uprights for the RTT from the top of the original C-Channel frame to the inside face of the uprights. Then add additional bracing in the channel itself directly below the gussets the full depth and height of the C-channel frame. Those are going to fatigue...

How tf do I replace the O2 sensor on a 100-series with DT headers?

Second the advice to check out MUD. You will get the info you need. Chances are someone has a trick that will allow you to change it without any modificaitons. Do you have an o2 sensor socket? They make it insanely easy to change the 02 sensor. My 100 has stock headers, but it took maybe 15...

    200 Series Lockers/Traction Control

ATRAC, when used correctly (i.e. light - moderate throttle) is just as effective if not more so than just a rear locker in most situations. Mud and situations where you need a lot of throttle ATRAC is useless. Whey ditch the rear locker, i'm not sure. Like was mentioned above aftermarket lockers...

1998 Land cruiser with 240K mileage

Have the heater tees been done? If not they are easy to do yourself. If not you should definitely do them. They get brittle over time and you don't want to lose coolant while out in the middle of nowhere. Also congrats on the truck, they are great vehicles.
