    the Yakima 2 man roof top tent is around a grand(if you catch them on sale they can be really cheap) and weighs 95 lbs. Worthy of a mention.

    If you get a good one like quechua, they are great. When folded up, they can still be bulky, but very light. I wouldn't want to take them on a hiking trip, simply for the size.
