    2005 Suburban

www.compnine.com. It is a paid site but works well and seems accurate. You can get a monthly subscription if you run a lot of vins but if you look at the finer print at the bottom of the package option page you can just buy 5 searches for 5 bucks, which is what i did.

    2005 Suburban

I was in the same boat a few months ago, and did a ton of research and months scouring craigslist for a unicorn 'Burb with all the right features for respectable but light overlanding and towing a 6x10 cargor trailer for a reasonable price. I had a few extra VIN searches on www.compnine.com...

    Chevy Autoride Suspension for Overlanding

Thanks for the quick response guys. Good to know its not a complicated fix. I found this set specifically, but couldn't tell if they were just coils and shocks with the electronic module or if the replacement had to be a special design for some weird reason that would lock me in to that...

    Chevy Autoride Suspension for Overlanding

Esteemed Overlanders, I am looking to buy a 2000 suburban 1500 to start a budget camping/light overland/light towing build and everything about it RPO code wise seems good except one thing: it comes with the chevy autoride air suspension. From what I can tell online, this system is not very...

Are WJs good enough for light overland towing?

Thanks for all the feedback so far. I honestly thought it would have been more negative...I'll definitely have to look more into WJs in the area. As a follow-up, for those of you that do tow with your WJ, have you done any mod that you found have helped make life easier (aside from mirrors)?

Are WJs good enough for light overland towing?

I am in the market for a hunting/camping/light overlanding truck/trailer setup (i.e. BLM land/forestry roads and only enough extra bumps to get to the final campsite spot or through a tough spot in the road). I want to get a 6x10 cargo trailer, which will be about 2000 lbs wet once loaded up...

Best suburban base to start with?

CampStewart, Thanks for the feedback. I thought I read somewhere that the 2500 can also fit larger tires at stock then the 1500. Do you know if that's true?

Best suburban base to start with?

Suburban mafia, I've been skulking on this forum for awhile, and decided on a GMT800 for my first non-daily driver overland/camping/hunting project rig with some help from some knowledgeable posters. I've been looking for what I think is the "perfect" base for about a month and almost pulled...

    Suburban vs silverado 2500hd?

Thanks for all the great info everyone, this a great forum and hope to contribute more instead of being the questions guy in the future. CrazyDrei, When you say you can sleep 4 comfortably do you mean two in the back and two in the driver/passenger seats? Is that a comfortable way to sleep in...

    Suburban vs silverado 2500hd?

Hey everyone, Looking to get into overlanding with my first non-daily driver rig, 50% me and the dogs stype trips and 50% family of two kids and two dogs style trips so want something full size. At first was thinking a sequoia, but after a lot of good advice from these forums whittled it...

GMT400 Suburban as Base Overland Rigs?

Thanks for the input. Yeah, lots of factors to consider for sure. In HS and college was always a old '60s muscle car kind of guy so handy/knowledgeable enough with engine repairs but still trying to get smart on all things suspension and lift related. Last thing I want to do is buy a base rig...

GMT400 Suburban as Base Overland Rigs?

Hi all, Hoping to get fully into the over-landing community soon with my first rig and looking at a suburban for the kids, dogs, and inside sleeping possibilities when solo or just me an the wife. I live in the Pacific Northwest and looking to explore all the old national forest roads and...

1st Gen Sequoia vs GMT800 Suburban Advice

Thanks for all of the great info everyone, I was honestly leaning toward the Sequoia before this post but all the great input has definitely swayed me to the suburban side. My main concerns were ground clearance and reliability and it sounds like a '02-'04 burb with somewhere between 100-150k...

1st Gen Sequoia vs GMT800 Suburban Advice

Hello, (soon to be home) deployed Soldier here with a little money to burn and in need of some advice. Trying to choose between a 1st Gen Sequoia or a GMT800 Suburban as my first dedicated over-landing platform. Both seem like strong, reliable full size vehicles from my research, but I'm...
