Supertramp Flagship LT pop-up slide-in pickup camper

Been quite a while since I posted on Expo…. Damn it… And now I remember why…. All the pics that my phone takes are too big to post…. Oh well, if I ever resize my pics maybe I’ll post them or they’ll make this site better. What a bummer…. Guess you’ve got to click on them to view… Anyway...

Experienced opinions and concerns on pop ups and canopy campers

I feel relatively qualified to talk on the wedge camper front. I was one of the very first GFC orders (back in the TacomaWorld/ Hondo Garage days when that was basically the first mass market wedge camper. VAGABOND was popping off at the same but I think GFC was first to market. The GFC...

    EV acceptance is peaking

You can haul free power home but it’s not as simple as Ford makes it sound. You need to install there Pro charger to a dedicated 100A circuit with 3 AWG wire. You then need the kit which is another $3800 to purchase then install it. It consists of a power seeking switch, and fairly large...

    EV acceptance is peaking

I like your style. I’m a total nerd when it comes to EV’s and electricity, in fact my prior line of work was a Nuclear Plant Operator so I’m fully vested in the power thing. I think you’re very correct that Hybrids, well plug in Hybrids actually, are the sweet spot for EV’s. I had a Hybrid...

Good morning. I will suggest what I always suggest when these discussions come up. Get yourself an insurance agent. They’re absolutely invaluable in insuring one offs, special vehicles, offroad campers Ext…. When I picked up my Supertramp my agent was able to have it insured for $85k the...

The Alu-Cab Khaya thread, share and ask

AVO in Asheville did one or two a year or so ago. Probably find it on IG if you’re really interested. They pretty much stacked rubber mats to lift it up if I recall. I’m sure you could reach out to them.

Supertramp Flagship LT pop-up slide-in pickup camper

That is good info thank you. I will note that both Chris and I have vehicles and have Starlinks that are in use so our feedback, while perhaps not what you want to hear is actual real world feedback. As I said Chris had connection issues and went to a better dish to ensure those were solved...

Supertramp Flagship LT pop-up slide-in pickup camper

That was kinda my exact point. Also i think the Starlink operates at 48V for some reason though I could be wrong. So you lose 2-8% efficiency…. BFD lol. I don’t mind running the inverter and losing a fraction of my power…. Hey speaking of power. What do you know about external solar...

Supertramp Flagship LT pop-up slide-in pickup camper

So i did some research on the new dish before we settled on this one. It’s larger by quite a bit and definitely draws more power than mine. The only added benefit I saw between mine and the newer larger one is slightly broader angle of operation. I liked the smaller footprint and lower power...

Yes those are seasucker mounts 4 Of them holding the dish. Obviously you know my truck is parked right now for winter but they held in great for over 2,000 miles while I made my way back from CO. ST did send out a warning to check them (as it was getting cold) but so far so good.
