OK, Thanks for the help with seals, brakes and bearings. I'm going to try to grab some quality bearings and seals before reassembling and will replace both sides, rather than running the chinese stuff that shipped with it. I have ordered some castor correction plates that I will run between...

    Smittybilt Scout Trailer Reviews?

Thanks, any info I can get is very helpful. I spoke to smittybilt 3 different people this morning. To say that they have lost my confidence is an understatement. I had to order the entire assembly from 4WP, based on Smittybilt part number and nobody can tell me what I am getting. Smittybilt...

I can’t get the camber out of it with the adjusters. I think the trailing arms are twisting. There is no way these things can handle 3500 lbs. anybody else having camber issues? Least of my concerns at the moment. I have been considering having some beveled camber correction plates made for...

I did not have the support brackets. I called SB when the original problem showed up and was told my Trailer was from a different run and they were not needed. I took their word. I was fortunate the tongue failed in a parking lot while we weere stayiong for a week at a Timeshare. We were on...

Hello, Does anybody have the new version with the tongue connection at the trailer body? I received a new tongue for my V1 trailer after mine broke while on a trip. I have the Habitat water tank coming and it requires the brackets that the tongue connect to. I'm about to purchase some steel...

We are getting ready to head out next week on a cross country trip. We are in Maine in Acadia and headed west toward Vegas. Going to take 4 months to bang around heading through UP and Badlands, then south before the rockies toward NM & AZ & Utah. Leaving the Heep in Vegas with Motech for a...

It has been a while since I have done this, so use your judgement and double check what I'm telling you here... The camber and toe are adjusted at the front of the trailing arm. There are "cam bolts" on the inside and the outside of the trailing arm where they pivot on the frame. These are...

Thank you sir. Appreciate it. I agree, toward the rear is better, but I had found a tank that was long and 13" wide I thought maybe would squeeze up through the suspension arms. No go there. I have exhausted the cheaper off the shelf options and will likely build one for the rear of the...

    Smittybilt Scout Trailer Reviews?

Hi all, I am trying to plan some things out here in Panama while my trailer is stashed in the USA. Would anybody with a 1st generation scout be willing to take some measurements for me? I was hoping to get a "clear" measurement between the two swing arm suspension connectors. essentially...

Powertank is a CO2 system. Co2 stored at high pressure with a regulator tailored to the hobby. I have used them for years wheeling and I can usually fill my (4) 37" Toyo's from 8-10psi aired down to my running pressure of 27psi about 6 times before I need a refill on a 10# tank. I have the...

We ended up with the Darche 270 awning and mounted it to the intended awning risers. Darche awning came with brackets to mount it. I flipped the provided mounts so the "flange" was inboard of the risers and mounted the brackets to the now unobstructed horizontals.

Considering this is one of the cheapest trailers in the marketplace, I cant say I am surprised. Some of the higher end trailers have positive pressure systems in their compartments to battle this issue when they likely have much better seals. I'm not sure what's involved, but possibly a...

    Smittybilt Scout Trailer Reviews?

Tongue weight is certainly an issue on this trailer, and a very valid discussion point. The trailer is clearly sold as a "base" for each person to set-up as needed for their use / style of travel. I think it is obvious that weight changes with the height of the hitch location, but lets not get...

Thoughts on the Edelbrock supercharger for JK

Sorry I can't help specifically with the Edelbrock or provide actual experience, but I have a sprintex unit with intercooler in my Garage, waiting to go on. Congrats and welcome. Mods are a sickness, LOL. Some people are attracted to these simply for the pricing, some as they see it as a great baseline for modifications. I spent many months away from my trailer planning and buying everything under the sun for it, and am now stuck on some major...
