    Vagabond Outdoors Drifter

We have tried sleeping head toward the wedge, but I have felt claustrophobic. My wife is 5' 4" and she was fine, but at 6", I felt like I didn't have enough space to breath. Also, it was strange to have the roof inches from my face. I also got the extension from VO, but found it was a pain to...

    Electric Chain Saw???

I bought a Stihl electric saw and have loved it. I can carry it in the cab of my pickup and I don’t get gas fumes. With a couple of batteries, I can cut way more wood than I need in weeklong trips. Plus, I can charge the batteries as I drive.

Besides MaxTraxx, what traction boards/mats do you use?

+1 for Gotreads. I like them because I can pack them away in a recovery box. I am not a fan of mounting recovery devices to the outside of my rig. They also double as a way to level the camper on uneven ground. Because they fold, they can have lots of different heights.

    LiFePO4 Install

I don’t know if BattleBorn is like Valance liFePO4, but I was able to wake up my very dead battery with some babying. I used a charger (Victron IP65) that had a battery recovery mode. Tue battery needed 1A to get back to 12v. When do charges with a regular charger, it wouldn’t charge. Sent...

Anyone care to comment? Used LiFePo 12v batteries from medical equipment?

These are the best batteries you can buy new, and the most expensive. If you can get them from and eBay seller that has tested the capacity, you could get lots of years of life. They have a great built in BMS that will protect them from severe discharge. I have a set of two I bought used, and...

    DIY LiFePO4 battery assembly

I recently built a 90Ah battery using ebay Valance batteries for $350. They were still in shrink wrap! They rock, though they are likely hard to find used now that Will did a video in them. DM me if you have specific Valance questions. I went deep down the rabbit hole on these. Sent from my...

Can the iPad really be used as an out-of-signal range, off-road GPS device?

I have a recent iPad with built-in GPS. It works great inside my Tacoma. I have had no issues getting a gps fix in canyons and deep canopy. This is a great setup with GAIA GPS. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

My Attempt at Finding a way to Navigate in Colorado/Wyoming, help needed.

If you are looking for one app for route planning and vehicular navigation I would point you to GaiaGPS. It has US Topo maps, open street maps, and MV Use maps. You can upload KML or GPX routes from google earth as well. What I love the most is the ability to auto route on roads/trails using the...
