IG 'Service' Center Location / Discussion

I have enjoyed seeing the extent that the Defender has really grown. I'd never touch one with a ten foot pole, but they are reallllly trying to do exciting things with it, including some beastly powertrains, many different levels of trim, and so on. Part of me wonders if you're seeing an arms...

IG 'Service' Center Location / Discussion

It's mind-blowing that a company has released a new vehicle and has no defined service plan for most of the country it released it in. And the general public (and anyone here, specifically) thinks it's ok.

    Second test drive...

Not to derail the thread, but I thought one big benefit of getting a Jeep with AEV work done to it was that it steered and rode much better than stock, even with the big tires. Was it any better than stock, or don't you know?

    Second test drive...

I have driven exactly that rig. Holy poop, man. That's the worst thing about the Gren I've seen yet. Get something lightly used and build it up so it's all the fancy you want. I mean, I get what you're talking about as far as new stuff. But wow. And both Lexus and Toyota are about to have some...

The Lump: Long Distance Comfort in LHD

That's bananas. Let's not forget the Audi 5 pedal worries from so many years ago. I cannot speak for them there down-under types. But that seems like it's realllllly close to the brakes...or is that the clutch with a pedal like that?

The Lump: Long Distance Comfort in LHD

Legitimate question: does one have to be able to document a disability in order to do such a thing? Or, be modifying stuff for someone with a noted disability?

    2006 Ford full of rANGER

Thanks! I just fixed the picture. There are lockers. It really depends on what axle you have, and there are quite a few out there. If I am reading things correctly, I have some choices I can make when the time comes. This includes LSDs, e-lockers, and ARB lockers.

    2006 Ford full of rANGER

So, I always scour the local BookFace Martketplace for shenanigans. That's how I got the Ranger! Somewhat local guy was selling some Ranger stuff for the short bed. Total Score for $450. First, I got a cap with working struts and screens: I mean, I was going to bedline it, but now I don't...

    Long Distance '85 Ranger Build

This is an excellent idea. Plus, think of the scenery that we'd all see.

You might not know, but what's the capacity on those Explorer springs?

    2006 Ford full of rANGER

It is indeed a 4wd. The Ranger Station suggests I can crank the keys (new or old, I might as well get new) an inch or so, and then the new springs would likely help, but I can also do lift shackles.

    2006 Ford full of rANGER

OK, well, it started, and ran. It did not drive. So...the truck was posted on Facebook, and I was speaking to its owner. Seems that he and his wife were splitting, and he was selling it. This was on a Thursday or Friday. Then, his wife kicked him out with the help of the police, and told him...

    2006 Ford full of rANGER

What year fits the 2006, do you know? It seemed that they stopped being compatible around 2002...but it may have simply been an old post that was mad about time? Sounds like HD springs handle 1750 lbs

    2006 Ford full of rANGER

So, I got some cool new fun stuff today I'll take pics of in the daylight tomorrow (thanks, Facebook Marketplace!) but I was pretty sure that the rear springs looked weak before. Now, with 240lbs of tube sand and the new toys...she's squattin'. I spent some time looking for things after I got...

    2006 Ford full of rANGER

I don't have a good name for her yet, so this will have to do for now! So, I was fortunate enough to find and buy some land in the Allegheny National Forest, about an hour from where I live. I'm very happy with it, but overall, with all the cars and rigs around my house, I don't have anything...

    Long Distance '85 Ranger Build

We've been going back and forth on the Grenadier forums, and I never paid attention to exactly what your username means! I picked up a 2006 Ranger for under a grand, and while it needs work, and won't be my primary, I will be building it to work, since it will be hauling stuff to my land I...

Thoughts for an Overlander in today's market? Suggestions?

The local Ford dealer is swimming in Broncos. 8 under 52k at this point. There is also a Raptor at about 100k. On the lower cost window stickers, I do not see any ADM.

good theory as to how it missed the mark.

lol thank you for that significant contribution

good theory as to how it missed the mark.

Fair enough. Just saying, ad I know the build up was a thing...that it's not quite Subie-level or Wrangler-level cult behavior, but definitely already at the 4runner level.
