Two bikes fit easily in the back of the van. You could even fit a 3rd bike if you faced it the opposite direction. Here is a picture before I mounted the beds.

    GMC Savana 2500 Build Thread

I have really agonized over what to do about a bed. The goal was to have sleeping accommodations for 2 and still be able to haul 2 dirt bikes. The fold down beds I have seen are about $500.00 each and I needed 2 of them. Instead, I purchased 2 plastic folding tables that were $40.00 each. I...

The spare tire bracket has finally been installed on the stock rear bumper. I originally ordered the bracket from Voodoo offroad. However, their design didn't allow for the rear door to open. I waited a long time for them to come up with a revised design, but it never happened. We ended...

Thanks for the information! I'll have to look them up the next time I'm in Anaheim. By the way, isn't your van on the Weldtec website? It looks great.

The top of the ladder mounts to the rain gutter with two bolts on each side. There are two bolts drilled into the body on the bottom.

We finally got the cargo rack and ladders installed yesterday. I'm really happy with the quality of the Voodoo Offroad parts. The ladders are very solid. I'm 190 lbs. and they don't move a bit when I climb them. The cargo rack is also very solid. I had steel mesh added so I stand on it...

The spindle lift feels very solid. It basically rides the same as it did with the stock suspension. The only problem I have encountered is with the gearing. The bigger tires make it drive like a dog. It will have to be regeared at some point in the future.

Here are a couple pictures of the adventure van in it's native habitat. We made our first trip to the desert last weekend which helped us develop a plan for the interior design. We will start installing the floor, walls and insulation this week. If anyone can give me some direction on what...

Maaco has repainted my company vans white in the past and the cost was around $900.00. They charged $1,200 for the adventure van because I changed the color, painted the jambs and had them do the grill/bumpers.

I got the old girl back today. I ended up going with a semi-gloss gray paint for the body and matte black for the bumpers and grill. Maaco did the job pretty cheap and I'm happy with the results.

They are cheap as compared to Aluminess. They quoted me $549.00 for a 120"x56" cargo rack, $249.00 for a side ladder & $389.00 for a swing out tire carrier. They are at www.bajavoodoo.com

I think I'm gonna go with gray. The roof rack & ladders will be black. I found a guy in Calexico that has roof racks, ladders and swing-out spare tire mounts for pretty cheap.

The old girl got some new boots this morning. I ended up going with some cheap steel wheels with a +12 offset. The tires are 265/70 R17 Falken Wildpeaks. The size is almost 32". There is a little rubbing, but I think a little fender trimming will take care of that. The next order of business...

It's a 2001. I bought several of these vans from 2002 to 2005 through U-Haul truck sales. Half of them have 8 lugs and the other half have 6 lugs.

We just finished up the lift this morning. I ended up going with 4" lift spindles in front from from Overland Vans. In the back we added 2.5" blocks to level it out. Next week she will get new wheels and tires as well as some new shocks.

I decided to take one of my old work vans and convert it into an Adventure/Moto van. My goal is to make it capable of long weekends in the desert for as cheap as possible. I will post pics and info as the build progresses.

I'm putting the same lift on my van. Can you tell me where you got longer brake lines? Thanks.
