Opinions on Ram 2500 wheel and tire options 285's vs 255's; Baja Boss vs something less aggressive

Yeah - saw your rig which somewhat gave me a vote of confidence it will work ok. Got a pic of the rig with the tires on from any different angles?

Opinions on Ram 2500 wheel and tire options 285's vs 255's; Baja Boss vs something less aggressive

Not dead set on the Baja Boss but unfortunately they are the only tire that comes in 255/85R17 that I am aware of! I want to try and stick with 35's so if I keep the AEV's I am stuck with the Baja Boss. A set of flares would solve the problem with the wider tires but don't wanna go down that...

Opinions on Ram 2500 wheel and tire options 285's vs 255's; Baja Boss vs something less aggressive

Struggling with this decision on my 2021 Ram 2500. I currently have a set of AEV Saltas with 287/75R17 but need a new set of tires (BFG AT's now) and I don't love how they sit, very slightly, outside the fenders, I guess I am getting old: Option #1: AEV Saltas + Baja Boss 255/85R17's >~35"...

    Toyota Tacoma build price

$38k in add ons? Did that includes a 4WC or something? Hard to fathom putting that kind of money in a truck but I think many of the YT builds are write-offs and/or parts supplied for free from the manufs.....

Hilux-frame compared to Land Cruiser 200/Ranger

Spot on - there was a lot of chatter about this 20+ years ago, Hilux vs 1st gen Tacoma....looks very sim but the Hilux was thicker and fully boxed. Truth is outside the 3/4 and 1T market in the US NVH is king, which means more flexible frames in general. Not the same in AUS or Africa where the...

IG 'Service' Center Location / Discussion

OP here - I don't think it's ok which is why I started this thread to begin with! It's mind blowing that people put this in an echelon above a typical BMW when reliability with be on par at BEST relative to typical BMW with minimal coverage for service. I've been saying this from the get go -...

2024 Land Cruiser in the USA?

A few years back I wanted to buy a VW Golf R - dealer had a $5k markup, went to dealer 20 minutes away, msrp. Same for my current Ram 2500, dealer near my house full MSRP + a bunch of BS add ons, dealer up the road for the same truck $2k below MSRP + $1k rebate. People just need to stop...

2024 Land Cruiser in the USA?

Poor form - but I've always been been able to negotiate that ADM out and/or find a dealer in the area that doesn't add it....has always felt like a strategy to get you to pay full MSRP, best case scenario.

2021 RAM 3500 Tradesman | AEV Prospector | FWC Grandby

Cant find the specific page - but can you point me to your winch setup including switches? Getting ready to add a hidden winch (not full bumper) and looking into options. Thanks!

    Mid-size vs Full-size truck setup

I wouldn't even look at midsize truck unless I need something to zip around town and didn't have kids. Full size all the way.

Should I buy a 2024 Tacoma TRD Off Road?

I liked my 19' Ranger more than my Tacoma or any Tacoma I've been in....you need to go look at a Ranger IMO, if not to at least cross it off the list. They are solid trucks and many parts cross-over to the Bronco so you have lots of lots of neat offroad parts available for it, including the HD...

    Opinion Please

The Crown vic I showed was not a diesel but very very few gasoline (Toyota or otherwise), I can't say none, will go near as long as a diesel in general. But it comes down to ability to rebuild, residual vehicle price (if it's cost beneficial to rebuild), parts availability and ease of repairs...

    Locker or manual lockout hubs

I'd do manual hubs before a locker personally if you think it will help with drivability and making life a bit easier on the road where the rig is going to spend the majority of it's time. Do the auto / fixed hubs cause guys issues?

    Locker or manual lockout hubs

He clearly spelled out the pros and cons of both - sounds like he is decided on one or the other, that's how I read his post.
