    International 3800 adventure bus build

Any update on moving the axle forward like your initial sketch? Curious of your thoughts & if you were able to do it. Great thread & progress on the build.

"The Refiner"... Building this C5500 Expedition conversion

What gears are you running with those wheels / tires? Any other updates?

    C4500 Ambulance Camper

I've been wondering the same thing - especially on vehicles that are much lighter than the mpt81 load spec. My assumption (possibly wrong) is with a vehicle roughly 1/2 the weight of the rating of the tire, (yours being ~14K lbs. vs 27K lbs rated tires) maybe one should run beadlocks and...

My Cummins/Allison 1000 Freightliner MT45 Step Van Build

Great progress on the youtube page. I'm sure it'll be more quiet as you finish the interior, but how much of a difference has all that dynamat made so far? My mt45 with the same engine and no sound damping is super loud inside.

    1959 GMC Adventure Bus Build

Those Michelin XL's look like the Pirelli PS22. Some threads I've looked at when considering these: https://expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/ram-5500-fire-crew-carrier-overlanding-camper-build.217101/page-3 https://expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/opinions-on-pirelli-pista.210395/ They...

    1959 GMC Adventure Bus Build

I like the look of the larger wheels - good call on raising the roof, school busses always seem too short on the ceiling. Also, the silver engine paint looks cool - like a prototype from a machine shop! What are your thoughts for final colors/paint? If you can find 41" 335/80r20s, they might...

Tire Suggestions for 4x4 School Bus

Sure, I'll see what I can do to get a photo of the Dana70. I believe the Topkick / Kodiak use a Dana70 up front, but not sure how it would differ from this. I've been watching the various Kodiak builds as it's a very similar size/weight/gvwr to the mt45. RE:16.5" wheels - I didn't even think...

Tire Suggestions for 4x4 School Bus

Looks like you turned your Dana60 into a Super 60! I think that I-beam style beef is a good idea for snow / rust maintenance compared to other configurations I've seen. Re: Axle / Weight Ratings - I think I found a 'unicorn' - supposedly surplus Dana 70 front drive axle from a 2019...

Tire Suggestions for 4x4 School Bus

That thing is going to be awesome! Thanks for the links. My build will be a similar gvwr ~14,000lbs. (mt45 4x4 conversion) so, I'll have to look into those hmmwv tires. For anyone else looking at tires / wheels for something of similar size - I've been posting at diesel place on wheel / tire...

New Build Begins- 2021 CV 515

Very cool build - thanks for sharing! Any issues / modifications required to fit those wheels / tires? Did the larger tires limit your turning radius, or they clear the springs / steering arm? How's it going on the habitat build?

Air Locker for a Diesel MT45 Panel Van Camper?

I’ve been looking at lockers / limited slip differentials as well - This thread. I have the same mt45, and believe it’s a Dana 80 in the back. Maybe consider a Detroit true trac. Article by Mundo4x4Casa With the stiffness of the frame / suspension in the mt45, this seems like a potentially...

    Nice to find a quad-cab 4x4 - any updates?

Air Locker for a Diesel MT45 Panel Van Camper?

Great build re: tires - I wonder if someone could make a custom rim or adapter plate to accommodate your desired tire choice? How are those tires working out compared to the stock tires? re: departure angle - How does the rear overhang work out for the roads you've taken so-far? I'm wondering...

My Cummins/Allison 1000 Freightliner MT45 Step Van Build

Keep up the good work - looking forward to following your progress! This may be a question that's too early - but, once you get into the motorhome part of the build - did you have any great ideas to reduce engine noise in the box? They're a bit loud for touring.
