    Oztent RV3 tent bag.

This is what we do. Then kind of mush the tent with my knees as I zip it up. Even 2 weeks ago in ~18° weather it didn't give me any trouble.

    Let's see your LJ's!

She needs a bath, but this one’s in the mud either in the woods or on the job every day! Pic with the Oz tent is how it’s set up most of the year- bikini top and windjammer. I run it as a mini pickup truck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Better late than never 2005 LJ build.

JK’s are cool and definitely great vehicles, but in my opinion, the TJ/LJ is the last Jeep to have the “charm” of the originals. I’d keep the LJ. My LJ is the only vehicle I’ve owned that seems to increase in value every year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

New Jeep Pick Up to be unveiled...The Gladiator

I’m afraid this truck will only make me sad. I’m probably exactly the target for it- Mid 30’s, outdoors guy and construction manager. Currently, My LJ stays in “mini pickup” mode most of the year with just a bikini top/wind jammer. My ideal Jeep pickup would be single cab, 6’ bed...

My 2004 LJ Unlimited's Journey and time for a refresh

Hello fellow ATLien! 2.5 w/33’s is probably plenty. Currently I have a Frankenstein lift of JKS/Bilstein/ProComp parts, but basically 3” suspension and 1.25” body lift. Whatever you decide, shoot me a message when you’re ready to install. Happy to lend a hand, tools, and driveway space...

Better late than never 2005 LJ build.

Just to make sure I’m clear, all that I mentioned was about how we packed our LJ. The JKU is a whole different story. We’ve definitely added a lot more creature comforts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Barn Door for JK factory hardtops

I’m sure it will be. Aesthetically, the “safari” top on the LJ isn’t my style, but definitely looks functionality superior to the standard version. Maybe I’ll come around ;)

What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

Swapped the plugs that were WAY overdue. No more misfire! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Better late than never 2005 LJ build.

Before my wife got her JKU, my LJ was our primary “adventure mobile”. The trick to maximizing space is to think like a backpacker and not like an “overlander”. What that meant for us is that anything that didn’t get used all the time didn’t come at all. Anything that COULD be smaller was...

Barn Door for JK factory hardtops

My wife and I saw your rig at OE this weekend. All I’ve heard since Saturday is how much she “needs” the barn door for her JKU. So, thanks for that [emoji23]. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think I am doing this wrong

For the reasons you mentioned, we ended up buying an Oztent. Since 9 times out of 10, it’s me setting everything up and packing back up while she tends to the kids, having a tent that sets up quick helped a ton. The other thing we bought that helped was a cookset where everything for 4 people...

Single Wall Boil Pot + French Press? That's not $$$

I’ve had mine for about a year with at least a dozen nights in the woods and a few dozen more when it was our primary maker during the hurricane. It has performed flawlessly so far. I have discovered 1 gripe though- if you leave the lid on while heating (which you have to unless you want to...

    Favorite car camping sleeping bag

My wife and I have been very happy with a North Face Dolomite Double. It wasn’t terribly expensive and most of our REI Dividend covered it. I’ve slept in one half alone down to 36° with a hot water bottle in the foot. Sleeping together, we’ve been comfortable at temps a little lower than that.

Have you looked into rear facing car seats for your under fours?

Heh- my youngest is 2 weeks old and already 24" long. I can't fathom he'll make it to his second birthday before he has to turn around.

Stanley Basecamp Set vs GSI set

That Primus set looks real pretty. Maybe combine that one with some small plates/bowls and a bag to pack it in... I didn't see the primus at my local last time, but being ATL, there are 2 other REI's to check.

Stanley Basecamp Set vs GSI set

Never really liked non-stick surfaces. Always so fragile. Plus, plastic turners always get that lousy edge roll that makes flipping eggs a nightmare!

Stanley Basecamp Set vs GSI set

It's REI Dividend season again we have about $80 in "Free" REI cash. We need a compact cook/Eat set to replace the space hogging conglomeration we currently use (think blue speckled enamel plates, goodwill pots and pans) With the wife and kids, we need it to serve 4. This would supplement the...

Ozark Trail "High Performance" cooler - any good?

Picked up a pair of the 52qt models at my local store in Atlanta. They feel pretty solid. Currently sitting in the back of my LJ loaded with lunches for work and about 25lbs of ice.
