how is the front leveled? are you still on 2" spacers and the stock z71 springs in the rear? where did you find those spacers?

stability and traction are more important. you can overcome a lot with lockers.

the full atomic kit does not work on 2500s the upper mount can be welded but lower cannot be made to work

where do you see under a grand? keep in mind I have to use 2500hd front components.

those coilover kits cost a pretty penny. hard to believe that after refreshing balljoints and steering it will come out cheaper than a leaf spring dana 60 swap.

thats a good point. I have a semi float 9.5 and the regular 2500hd front axle. 4l80e and 3.73 with g80. I don't like the drop bracket lifts so that would be out of the question. I agree on the extreme vehicle setup for overlanding. I am very new to this having many samurais a zr2 and a lifted...

just not sure its worth it to solid axle swap it or just run cutout flares and 35s on h2s. the truck has very high miles so the front end components need to be gone through anways.

its a 1500hd. so it has a heavy duty frame, axle what not. Its also paid for and in the driveway. buying a 50k truck is not an option. I have been looking at the wfo concepts sas and the offroad design. the issue with ord is the use of the hp60 which is very difficult to source.

I am considering building my silverado 1500hd for some decent wheeling and tripping. thoughts are to make it equivilant to powerwagons. does anyone have advice/or build threads of something similar?
