GX470's are are very reliable as far as drive train goes. The 2uz and 5 speed is rock solid. Only thing I would worry about is the airbags, they are fairly easy to replace along with the associated sensors. You can also swap them out for coils if you want. If you keep up standard maintenance...

TundraBirds Go! Picture Thread for Tundras and T-100s

Can you post some more pics of that flatbed? That is sweet! And actually seems like it’s reasonably priced.

Qooper's Tundra to Flippac’d Tacoma Build Thread.

Welcome! Looking forward to seeing the coastal offroad bumper. I'm thinking about picking one up as well. As for the rake on your truck, if you aren't towing or overweight right now I would pull the airbags. The 3 leaf pack should do a pretty good job if you are just loading the bed and going...

    First post asking advice

Agreed. Including diff fluids and a once over on the engine for leaks. I would look at the valve cover gaskets and crack seal. Not sure what the maintenance history has been but 225k is a good time to do a full tune-up for peace of mind. Plugs, coils, brakes, and shocks etc.

    seanpistol's 01 Tundra

Pulled this from the thread on TacoWorld @northboundtundra .................................................. Now on to the front diff. It would be possible to wire up a switch to operate the front actuator, but I wanted to get rid of the electronics in the 4wd system completely. There is a...

Northbound Tundra, building a 5 speed manual transmission swapped 2001 Toyota Tundra with 2uzfe 4.7 liter engine into an overland adventure vehicle

https://www.tundrasolutions.com/threads/2000-4-7l-5-speed-manual-conversion.121935/ There was this one, except it was a w58 (only 2wd). So this would be the first I know of. Looks like a great project! Would love to see the documentation and follow along.

Wanted: 2005 (+-) Tundra 4wd Low Milage Unicorn (Help Me)

I would have a very hard time paying more then 10k for a first gen tundra. I have owned 3 of them and there is not anything to worry about mileage wise. But... Here is a link. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/2641812195869013/

    1st gen Tundra, wheels, suspension

If you have the money, Kings with SPC UCA's in the front paired with an AAL and Fox 2.0 shocks in the rear will get you just about anywhere. If you are on a budget 5100s all around is about as good of a deal as it gets. If the truck is an 00-02 you can upgrade the calipers to 13wl which came on...

    01 Tundra -on a budget

Couple small updates: Got rid of the stock starfish wheels and put on some Toyota steel wheels. They are 16x7 and the stock spare for first gen Tundras. Found an ARE MX on FB marketplace and scooped it up first thing after casually looking a long time. So currently running that instead of the...

    01 Tundra -on a budget

Been awhile since I posted anything here. Have been busy with school but got around to working on the truck a little bit. Picked up some 12 hole injectors off of a v6 Camry that drop in and work great with the use of an adapter. Fuel trims have been perfect and no codes have been thrown. MPG is...

    Clutch’s deep thoughts thread...

Seems to be a wealth of knowledge in this thread and a good place for random questions. Anyone know the offset of these 16x7 steel wheels? Picked them up off CL for cheap.

    01 Tundra -on a budget

Hey guys, Long time lurker and have used this site as a resource for a long time. Always been a Toyota fan and my family has been through quite a few. We currently have two Tundras, two 4runners, and a Sequoia all between 01-04. So we like our early 2000's Toyota's. I Picked up a 2001 Tundra V8...
