    Critique my solar setup plan?

I don't think Li-Po batteries are good for deep discharge, so I would stick with your AGM option.

2018 Subaru Crosstreks have arrived (2018=all new)

I'd bet more guts will be a long time coming. If it had more power, it might cannibalize Outback sales.

Opinions on using palates for building storage boxes.

Those are great. Another option is wine boxes. When I was in my 20s, we all used these for storage and making bookshelves. They're way more durable than you'd imagine. I still have one hanging in my garage.

BFG KO2 pressure for snow and ice

In snow and ice, traction is maintained by those tiny lateral slices in your tire (called sipes). If you under air your tires these sipes won't deform as they are designed to do. Run your tires at stock pressure. By the way, I know lots of people now refer to grooves as sipes. That's not...

    Teryx4 rooftop tent

UTVs are being adapted for many of the things we rely on trucks for. If you're not familiar, these things off-road like goats. But I'm not sure that would still be true wigh thd RTT.

Battery operated impact driver vs. pneumatic

I've used air tools all my life and battery tools for a decade. I even keep a half inch 18v impact in my UTV. To effectively use volume air tools like impacts and ratchets, you'll need 3.5cfm and at least a 30 gallon tank. To do the same work with battery tools you'll need a spare battery. No...

Anybody have some inexpensive tricks for dealing wtih desert pinstriping and gouges?

So somebody keyed your car? Is that the gist of it? You probably won't be able to fix it to your satisfaction. And it's virtually always someone you know who is personally angry at you. Random drive-by keyings of just one car are almost non-existent.

    Laptops for Overlanding Travels

The key advice here is to get an SSD. My son has used a $250 Dell with an 11" screen (and ssd upgrade) for three years of middle school. I'm pretty sure an 11-13 year old, daily carry and daily use tops anything you'll put one through.

    BEWARE OF RTIC COOLERS

Dueling press releases. Rtic appears to have conceded on every point, paying money and cease and desist. Thats a shame because they proved that Yeti pricing was completely unrelated to cost of goods. Anyway, we'll see if Rtic can mount a new product line. Supply chain has never been their forte.

Looking for battery options now that Diehard Platinums are discontinued

This is another one of those topics that matters a lot less than it used to. Aside from the comments about Optima (which seem to be universal) almost any major company battery will be good. AGMs are worth the extra scratch. Lithium-Iron, probably not.
