What makes an off-road trailer an off-road trailer

Offroad trailer to me is one that will follow you down or up a nasty rutted out trail and still be able to make it home. Just as your vehicle does.

    Sad Day sold my RTT

I just bought it in February of this year...Was a CVT Mt. Rainier. Decided to sell our house and needed the money.... Sold it real fast as it was only used a few times...Planning to buy another (same model) with proceeds from sale after we buy a new place. Have a great summer everyone. Get...

    Camping Myles Standish State Forest

Looks like a good shake down run. I ran into similar oopses on our first trip out with our RTT. Coming from a RV that has everything to a jeep and small trailer with RTT. I need to learn to pack lighter. Good luck on your next adventures.

    WINCH ON A TRAILER

I have thought about mounting one under the rear to pull trailer around a tree when you get in a tight spot. You could do the same with a front mount and a snatch block. Your idea would work good for the intended purpose.

Post favorite pics of your rig and trailer

Using a scissor jack to lift the tent platform up for now. Works good and I use a 12V drill to lift/lower it. Will eventually go to gas lift struts. For now it works as is.

The Jeep Expeditions Home Built Trailer

Really like what you are doing here. The modular construction of it I think will work out great for the home builder. Yes please post prices for the build when you get it complete. Good luck.

Softening the Suspension on an M101CDN Trailer

Might want to look at Rancho 2.5 lift springs for the front of a cj3a. They are exact same length as stock and use similar bushings.

Where to buy bushings for M416

I replaced my springs with Rancho's so maybe that is the differance. I used poly bushings in mine.

Where to buy bushings for M416

Most any offroad shops will stock Rubber and poly bushings. I just walked in and said I needed bushings for a flatfender and they got my the right bushings.

    Cascadia Vehicle Tents GB 2015

I didn't wait for the group buy. I was ready for my tent in Feb so loaded the family in the truck and drove to Bend to meet the people from CVT. I had already decided on a Mt. Rainier seeing the showroom was just icing on the cake. Nice to climb around in a few different tents before pulling...

    Then and now

Just wanted to add a few pics of my trailer. I have got inspiration from many builds on here. [/IMG][/IMG][/IMG][/IMG] Don't have a build thread just a lot of work over a few years time.

    Twitchy trailer questions

I think it was a combination of all the above. I might have loaded wrong thinking water and cooler were enough... Tires are 30 inch class C So maybe a little there and the tongue is short in my opinion... Will do a little tweaking and shuffling around for next trip and hope that helps. Thanks...

CVT Mt. Rainier on my F250

I like the tarp idea, better than a blanket. Like you said easier to clean and store. Then use as a ground cloth when folding up the annex. I use a brown outdoor carpet under the floor of the annex to keep rocks and sticks from poking through the floor.

    Twitchy trailer questions

Ok will try to add more tongue weight next time. Thought I had enough. Had 6 gallons of water and a full cooler in the front of the trailer. Thanks

    Twitchy trailer questions

Towed my m416 for the fist time fully loaded this weekend to go camping. Trailer has a ball coupler instead of the lunette. I am towing with a jeep wrangler and the trailer feels real twitchy. Very small steering input and trailer feels like it wants to sway back and forth. Would extending the...

CVT Mt. Rainier on my F250

Looks great. I built a very similar removable rack for my truck using round tubing making the tent cab high. Problem I ran into was like your rack mine angles in. So the tent is in the middle of the bed. When using the annex is lays against the side of the truck. This is ok if your truck is...

M416 Build - Phase II - Addition of Hardsided Folding Camper Top

Really like how this turned out. Great idea. Hope you have many years of fun with it.

Picnic trailer to expo trailer build

Great starting point. For the tent... if it is possible use the side legs that the benches are attached to and build a rack that telescopes up. Then you can still access stuff under the lid with the tent deployed.

    RTT lighting

For inside the tent I have a fleetwood fan/light combo and for the annex area a 12 inch LED strip with remote.
