1950 chevy 6400 flatbed expedition build

Some thing to think about. Look at the size of those front wheel wells. If memory serves me right that old iron ran 800 or 900x20's on it. That is a tall tire. If you try to go much shorter the wheel/tire combo will not look right in that large wheel well. I would figure out tire sizes before...

1950 chevy 6400 flatbed expedition build

Right now is the time to beat ideas around. I ideas don't cost money. When you start working on it. Money starts to flow. At that point you don't want to redo work. That's also why I mentioned talking to the local MSP office that would be do your build paper work. If that officer doesn't like...

1950 chevy 6400 flatbed expedition build

This is the route I would suggest. Doing custom is a nice thought. But for a road vehicle it will need to be fully inside DOT rules and reg's. Starting with a suspension package all ready approved for the weights and size your wanting to build will make the headache at time of title work easyer...

2013 Ram 3500 with C&M flat bed build for all purpose

All the skirted and side boxed flatbeds will give you bad departure angles. The only way to get around that would be one of the none skirted beds or have a custom built bed to your spec's. I have a B&W flat bed. It is skirted and boxed also. I don't think they build beds any more. I can't...

    What PTO?

Muncie Power Products makes most of the PTO boxes in use. Here is a link to the website. If you get serious I would call customer service. Before the call figure out what you want to hook to it. Like stated above there are many different types of PTO boxes. All used for different types of driven...

    1971 Power Wagon camper project

Being a /6 it most likely has 4:56 or 4:88 gears. That's all I ever found behind those trucks for gearing. Your a couple of months late. I gave away a OD 833 and another nonOD 833 to get them out of the garage. A gasser NV4500 would be a good swap. Those went into the 90 and up gasser Dodge...

    Steel or aluminum flatbed

The thing to remember about aluminum. Its not if it will crack, it is when. A alum bed that has seen road miles is hard to weld. A crack collects anything thrown off the tires or road. You can spend as long as you want trying to clean that crack. I can tell you it will not be a single pass weld...

How Does Ignition Work For A Mechanically Injected Diesel?

The starter turns the engine over. The injection pump will have some means of shutting off fuel for an off position. To give you an answer with any accuracy we would need to type of injection pump used. On my 6BT Cummins the injection pump has an electric solenoid to control fuel flow to the...

    1984 Dodge W350 Crew Cab

It will work with a mag pickup. All the tach is looking for is a square wave (on/off) voltage signal. That is the same signal an old style set of points give on/off.

'90 Dodge W150 Build Thread: ExPo or Overland

In that tan pic I think using #1 as white would be to much. #3 has less area in that pattern I think white in there might work. Then move the tan to #1. I hope the plasti-dip stays on the rims. I have seen reposts of problems on wheels. Nice cutty. I stopped doing boats decades ago.

Fleet flat bed vs Fleet reg bed

Anything you could haul in a pickup bed!!!!! There is the problem. A peeeuuu or tray bed limits the usage. If your hauling stick lumber or 4X8 items fine. Lets talk in what I have done with mine. Throw two #750 round bales of hay on a peeeuuuu or tray bed. It will be fun getting the front...

    1984 Dodge W350 Crew Cab

Guys with the older non-intercooled 1st gen's have to use the Isspro setup to put a tach on those trucks. Only the 92/93 model trucks had tach provisions.

    1984 Dodge W350 Crew Cab

If that engine had a CPS from the factory it would be mounted on the right (passenger) side of the balancer. The wires would have came up in front of #1 valve cover. If you try to use one from a 1st or 2nd gen Dodge. It is a low voltage switch. The Dodge PCM only supplies 8 volts to it. The...
