    Tacoma Rear Bumpers

Contact Kevin. Here's his "main" page. They don't show a direct-fit bumper with swingout, but it might be possible. The page doesn't show a high-clearance with swingout either, but he has done it!

Price. People seem to like Treadwright, so I'd just as soon get these.

Yaesu FT-8800R Install on 05+ Tacoma

If it were me, I would put it more toward the center of the bumper. You will naturally aim the center of vehicle toward the least amount of tree limbs, etc.. Placing the antenna nearer the center means you'll never have to worry about rocks, tree trunks, or tree limbs. Just the occasional...

tacoma vs 4runner for expo rig

Let me just add this: the locking mechanism of a top may be prone to freezing in winter temperatures. Condensation will get into most standard locks. Nearly had my snowboard held hostage a month ago in Tahoe. I'm surprised my 29-year-old hips can fit through the sliding window of a Tacoma...

    Tacoma Tire Pressure - BFG A/T 265/75/16's

After much scientific testing, I run at about 35PSI in the 265/75/16s under my 2006 AC Tacoma w/fiberglass top and ~300 pounds of gear. And by scientific testing I mean squinting one eye and muttering "that oughtta do it." If you're really concerned about it you could do the chalk test...

So I broke both my rear shocks today!!!

I've got OME/Dakar with a few hundred pounds of gear and a fiberglass top. I believe you would be well served, but then again I wouldn't have believed two rear shocks could break like that. :\

    Opinions/Advice

If it were me I would add a rear locker, sliders, a bed topper, a hitch receiver shackle, good AT tires, a head unit with iPod connector, and a CB. If there's any money left over I would invest in suspension upgrade. Good luck :)

    Caffine..........

Might give MonaVie EMV a try. It's a fizzy blend of natural stuff and advertised to be without jitters or crashes. I had one and it tastes better than the typical energy drink and helped me turn in a paper on time. Well, could've been the placebo effect. I figured a $4 placebo that helps me...

Roof rack options for basket, lighting, awning, etc.?

I've got a Snugtop with Thule rails on my Tacoma. I'd like to get started toward a modular rack that will let me add [eventually] a basket, area and off-road lights, awning, RTT and whatever else I might decide upon in the future? Will rectangular Thule load bars with Tracker II feet be...

    Snow chains for 35"ers?

Here's a quick source for the size. You could do a more comprehensive search for each of the listed similar sizes on google shopping and amazon. Good luck :)

    Cap or Hard tonneau?

I know you asked for opinions from those with experience with both, but maybe my 2 cents is worth a penny. I prefer a cab-high top because access is easier, it's still secure, and it's more versatile. You can order them without windows; you can use the windows to access tools if you're so loaded...

    JK armor and suspension?

My buddy bought Pro Comp's 4dr JK show vehicle a year or two ago and he's too broke to do anything with it, so I'd like to look into it for him and maybe even surprise him with a set of sliders or something. The Prom Comp (oops, did I spell that wrong?) make-over consisted of throwing on a ~4"...

    Apple Tablet: iPad

I may be in the minority here: I love Apple products, but I'm not a Kool-Aid drinker. I've had my share of Apple products from computers to iPods but I've avoided the iPhone 'cause I can't justify paying for a glorified phone and pay $100/mo. I had been wishing for years that I could access the...

I'm not asking, I'm clarifying his wording so novice riggers won't get into trouble.

    12k synthetic line???

You're saying latch damage is fine and would agree that hook damage is not acceptable? From the bit I quoted earlier I wasn't certain whether you were referring to hook or latch :)

My little welding / fabrication cart project.

Could probably add another pair of casters to distribute the weight without too much trouble. Looks like McMaster-Carr has a good IT team. They sorted them out by a whole lot of parameters! http://www.mcmaster.com/#casters/=4r64lf

    12k synthetic line???

If I correctly understand what you are saying, I advise against using a hook that has been damaged so much that the latch misses. If it is the [non-locking] latch then that is different. But any indication that the hook and rigging that it is dimensionally altered means the rigging is...

My little welding / fabrication cart project.

Great looking welds! Also looks like it's intended to survive a bomb strike or cart around sheets of depleted uranium. Beefy use of crossbars!
