    Agreed but, it has been done on numerous occasions. It is just a tail fix and should be redone when you get back to civilization. It's no worse than a blown front axle u-joint. You pull the inner axle, stuff a rag in the axle tube, reinstall the outer axle and limp home several hundred miles...
