    0% financing on 2020 Tacoma

Not to barge in on the thread (as I was enjoying the comments) but this is simply not true. What others have said above it the reality. Once an institution runs a credit check on you, it is open for 2 weeks, if Im not mistaken. Anything in this period will not affect it after the first hit...

Help me pick a Toyota platform? Trying to decide amongst: LX/LC/GX/4R/Taco

Why not both...... Dont tell me they arent capable. Ive wheeled my DCLB with land rovers and jeeps on 35s. Just takes longer, what with tire placement and several attempts. Plenty of capability for the hardest camp sites. 2nd gen taco and 1st gen tundra access cab are near identical size...

Logan: a 2015 Tacoma DCSB Build

Why the Taco hate? I know there are a lot of builds, but they offer compromise for those of us that need the vehicle for more than just camping/adventuring (I will never use the "O" term ?) They do lots well but nothing exceptionally well. Decent fuel mileage, not outstanding. Not that good of...

4th Gen 4runner suspension refresh, calling all suspension guru's

I have not researched the Dobinson setup as much as others. Thanks for the update and review. I hope your 4runner doesnt actually ride like a 1ton ?

Help me dream up the perfect sub $30k rig!

If you need 4 seats while camping and sleeping in the bed, where is everyone else sleeping? And if they are sleeping in tents, thats a great alternative. Personally, if I wasnt now married.....buy a 1st gen tacoma, sleep in the bed or a tent, and use the rest of the money to travel. We...

Lightforce 240 Blitz vs Single LED Spot Lights

For distance, 240 Blitz are decent. The Hyperspot beam pattern from Rigid Industries is also super bright and far reaching. So much that I removed it from my rigs and Im going to run the spot pattern from Rigid.

4th Gen 4runner suspension refresh, calling all suspension guru's

Try the Elkas. Come back with a review. Then I can make a better informed decision when the time comes for me :p

Thinking of going from Tacoma to 4Runner

I have both.... 2010 DCLB Sport 2006 V6 Sport Both have pros and cons. 4runner has amazing turning radius. Tacoma has more room (fiberglass topper) for camping gear and our dogs. If I could only have one.....probably tacoma. More versitile.

4th Gen 4runner suspension refresh, calling all suspension guru's

Absolutely. Coils are generally more plush. However, I find the 4runner on OME rides rougher than the tacoma on Icons. I think its partly due to the shorter wheelbase though..... Cheaping out does cost more in the long run. But OME is reliable enough, and its more what level of performance you...

4th Gen 4runner suspension refresh, calling all suspension guru's

We clearly have different perspectives about what we want out of our 4runners. Im glad OME suits you well. I enjoyed my 1st gen tacoma with OME alot as well and traveled the country with it. Hope it serves you as well as it served me. Ive discovered what works best for me and my wants and needs...

4th Gen 4runner suspension refresh, calling all suspension guru's

Utilitarian does not mean running at GVWR. It means it functions for what you need it to, and doesnt compromise. I dont think this is true for your setup, as you pointed that it is setup for carrying weight and "happens to suffice". I prefer when spending any significant amount of money for it...

4th Gen 4runner suspension refresh, calling all suspension guru's

For the folks that are recommending OME and not Icons or Foxs......what exactly is your experience with suspension? Have you run anything other than twin tube mass produced shocks? I am never going back to OME after trying Icons on the Tacoma for the first time. I had OME on my first Tacoma and...

    Winch Mount Bolt Strength

I forgot to reply to this. I had the Warn fairlead that came with the winch. Its powdercoated steel. I have since gone to a Factor 55 1.5" fairlead. Have yet to do a pull with it. I agree with you. The deformation is probably due to the weaker washers as well. If I upgraded just the washers I...

    First Generation Tacoma Build

What do you have for a lift? Is it a drop bracket kit then? I would opt for a mild 2"-3" lift on better shocks. Keeps COG lower and provides a much more comfortable ride on long trips (read cross country)

Propane tank... anyone added a permanently mounted tank underneath? General Questions

First off, no to the adjustability. Propane fixtures all run on 11" w.c. pressure. No need for adjusting up or down unless you want to fine tune your burner gas usage to perfect. Which isn't needed at all. You will probably burn say 19,940 BTUs in a 20,000 btu fixture, for example. Second, yes...

    Winch Mount Bolt Strength

Yes, feet forward So I upgraded everything to grade 8. It was grade 5, or 8.8 for metric. This is how mine is mounted. I doubt the ARB bumper bent. But I guess its possible. It doesn't look wrinkled anywhere underneath or on the back side.

    Winch Mount Bolt Strength

Will do. Soon as I get home from work. The edges of the hex get "squished" as the bolt flexes. The actual bolt appears straight still. I believe it's more to do with side forces not straight pulls.
