    Grip Strut Safety Grating

I think you may want a "sand ladder" or "traction pad". This one would be good in snow. https://www.amazon.com/ladder-Aluminum-Recovery-traction-Off-Road/dp/B06XPR4GPK

    Hand washing and drying racks/lines

I'm building a small box (12') so I won't have space for a washer. Can anyone share advice for how to hand wash and hang your clothes? Where do you put the clothes lines? Do you use a rack? Any tips?

Custom truck camper, let's talk materials

You can look up the deflection values for any type of tubing. In residential construction the max allowable deflection is 1/4". It's designed that way to avoid tearing the paper on the face of drywall under flex. The strength of the tubing is a combination of wall thickness and diameter. It is...

telescopic ladder as fixed roof ladder

I noticed that a lot of folks carry a ladder of some form in their rig to get to the roof. On the LMTV it's common to add a ladder to get to the roof of the cab. I was thinking it would be clever to mount a telescoping ladder in place of the fixed ladder. Then telescope the first couple of steps...

    External ladders and safety

I watched an amazing restoration . In the video they mentioned they have a rooftop hatch to access the roof and there is no other way up there. They did this for security reasons. Is anyone else designing their vehicle to make it difficult to get on the roof?

    Cabinetry in composite/'glass boxes?

I am planning on building my box using aluminum and rivets. I have also considered gluing the cabinets in place. I think I will opt to build structure into the walls to add fasteners in. From what I am told it can really be helpful to be able to remove furniture to get to plumbing and replace...

    LMTV 1078 Camper build concept

Regarding re-gearing the trucks. The factory ratio is 3.70 (in the differentials) and there is further reduction in the hubs (where there are gears). There are used 3.07 ratio differentials pulled from MRAPs. Finding these is becoming very hard. The original manufacturer Merritor is completely...

Stuck Expedition Truck - how to recover - discussion

I've seen those used in heavy recovery shows. I think you would still need a winch or two to finish righting it.

looking at 12v portable winches and chainsaw winches and come alongs the highest pulling power I saw was 2000 lbs which wouldn't help. I'm looking for the math now to calculate the pulling force to right the vehicle.
