    Tire advice on quigley ambulances?

Hi guys, I’m looking at another ambulance but it needs tires badly. Factory size is a 225-75-16-e, but I don’t want to buy tires twice so I thought about getting something slightly taller. If google isn’t lying, this is around a 29” tire. I am wondering if anyone has a size recommendation closer...

Ambulance Camper/ Expedition Rig Conversion FAQ

Hi all, I am checking out a quigley coil lifted Horton full ambulance, it is going to need tires before I drive it home. Does anyone know what size tires I can get away with on a quigley life without too much rubbing or highway driving concerns? I’m not looking to make an off-road beast but if...

Fred the Van. The More We Explore's Adventure Van Build Thread

Understandable, putting that much effort into a video for armchair mechanics to rip on you must be frustrating. I found the fact that you highlighted mistakes or things you could have done more safely as an endearing factor, it actually felt like a job that anyone could complete in a driveway...

Ambulance Camper/ Expedition Rig Conversion FAQ

What would everyone put the real world value on this? Originally from somewhere in the states (I’m guessing rust belt by the undercarriage shots), and higher mileage (235k), but rebuilt tranny, tcase and new injectors. It has been posted for a few months now and the price came down from 15...

Any opinions on cydesdale 4wd conversions?

Hi guys, I’m looking at an e350 van semi-locally which has a Clydesdale 4x4 conversion. Unfortunately it is an auction vehicle so test drives aren’t exactly possible. The conversion company is based out of British Columbia, but in looking for world reviews compared to u-joint, quigley, etc. The...

Ambulance Camper/ Expedition Rig Conversion FAQ

It's a 2000 demers 4x4, no original manual but the owner downloaded a bunch of documentation from the builder, and used a plotter printer to print out a 1:1 scale image of the electrical panel. One thing I did notice was the compressor kicking in often to top up the air bags when driving...

Ugh, for time being I just posted the links, will figure out image hosting tonight. I can't figure out which will be harder, finding a new mobile image hosting site, or getting my girlfriend to see the potential of an ambulance built in this century vs a camper van designed in the 80's :Wow1:

Ambulance Camper/ Expedition Rig Conversion FAQ

A few items of note, the seller just dropped the price, still curious to hear everyone's take on the value of this. Upon test driving, my gf hated the lack of headroom, engine/compressor noise, and the lack of floor space. This is what happens when you are raised on trailers and rv's

Earlier in this thread, alternators were mentioned as something to watch for I believe. Not sure how to identify the proper ambulance one, I hope someone can answer that for you.
