i agree with doing the maintenance my self and i still can on a lot of it but for something like my control arms i just don't trust the driveway i have to use is all, its broke up too.
Thanks, i got a 99 dodge dakota sport, 5.2 v8 lifted with 33x12.5 tires, i did find fab shops for some of the custom work i want to do but till i have the money for that i need to take care and maintain what i have now, that's why i am asking.
Not sure if this is the right spot for this but I'll try.
I just moved to Tennessee within the past week and I have never been here before. I am in the Knoxville/Powell area and though I can do a lot of work on my own there are things I simply need a shop for things such as over sized tire...
Well this kinda got off track of what the original post was about, i just needed to know what tank size would be the best option for a diy onboard air system.
I will look into it on a later date, too close to my road trip to afford anything now but at least i have something to air up my tires, better than nothing since i don't have a spare.
Well the air pump i ordered came in and it simply wont work for what i am thinking, way too small but it does air up a tire good so ill just use it for that and go with plan B.
I believe its more of if that tanks run out the compressor can't keep up if its not big enough, at least that's what i'm taking from it. CO2 may have its benefits but i wouldn't burn my money on it unless I'm building a race car. As for tanks, I do agree having a reserve sitting ready will help...
I know its just a idea with that compressor but I'm not putting all my eggs in that basket, I have priced other compressors like the ones for air ride systems to cover bases.
Opps your right I looked at the wrong part, the single compressor was $230. The compressor I am looking to mess with is this one>>> https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KTY5CJA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1.
I know its just a tire pump but I'm thinking of wiring it to both a...
I know I looked it up, that is the price for a ARB twin compressor set up. I have looked up some parts and I can build the system for less but the tank size got me stumped a little, thats why i made this post.
Impact gun really would be the only air tool i see needing so that idea does make sense, plus that should also work with lockers and horns too, just have 1 pump set to build to pressure and the other to pick up the slack when needed as well as a bypass just for tires.
I am looking at around $140 or less, problem is the existing kits i find for that price range are crap that's why i was thinking of just making my own set up, plus a little pride in saying i made it my self :) lol.
