    Halley - '17 WK2 Trailhawk Overland Build

Checking in, 8 months later. You still have Halley? I’ve always appreciated your writeups and posts. I still have my 2014 Overland Diesel, which just rolled 97,000 miles. I’ve decided to keep it for 2 more years, to give to my then 16-yr old son. I ordered a Wrangler 392 last month to “tide me...

I never mounted my bike mounts to my Rhino Rack, so I am of no help on this one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Regear - 4.56 or 4.88 for overland JKU

Would 4.10s even be an option? I have the same setup and pull about the same trailer so I appreciate the comments here. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

    Halley - '17 WK2 Trailhawk Overland Build

I have a few more questions which might benefit everyone: 1. What’s the easiest way/place to run wiring through the firewall? 2. Is the negative jump pin under the hood actually wires to the negative terminal of the battery? 3. If not, is there a place under the hood to tap that links...

    Halley - '17 WK2 Trailhawk Overland Build

2180 Miles: I’d still like to talk on the phone ASAP. In the meantime, here’s my 20” Rigid Radiance Mounted to the bumper cross member, which wouldn’t work for you due to your winch. But for those of you with the Chief front protection piece, who want to leave the lower air dam off, this is...

    Halley - '17 WK2 Trailhawk Overland Build

Wow, thank you very much! I appreciate it. Okay, I won’t mess with the high beams wiring. That being said, I will use opposing relays to trigger the light bar. Is there a fog light wire in this same location so that I don’t have to tap a bulb up front? Thanks again! Sent from my iPhone using...

    Halley - '17 WK2 Trailhawk Overland Build

Hey everyone: I am going to add the same reverse lights 2180 used, a 20” Rigid driving bar to my bumper, and the Rigid DOT Duallys to my stock foglight location on my 2014 Overland. Edit to post: I've decided to use a SwitchPros switch bank, which comes with an under hood power module that...

    My M101A2 Expo/Base Camp Trailer

Those have an 18 month warranty; I may try them, thank you. Windy Nation is rated at IP65, but they aren’t! Also, only 6 month warranty. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    My M101A2 Expo/Base Camp Trailer

Reviving this post as 3 of the 4 exterior actuators died within 8 months. Any other suggestions on were to get nicer ones that are more weatherproof? The windy nations stuff is junk. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Looking for advice on where to put switches

So the electric actuators from Windy Nation are crap; 3 died within 6-8 months. Any other ideas on better sealed actuators? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Ryan: thanks for the reply. Because the high beam is only a shutter moving, the old way of just tapping the high beam circuit to power my relay won't work on my GC. If I could easily find the circuit that moves that shutter, that would be ideal. But from other forum threads, it's buried in a...

    Halley - '17 WK2 Trailhawk Overland Build

2180: I want to put a lightbar behind my grill and have it go on with my high beams. There is a guy on another forum that talks about opposing relays. But I can't get him to explain exactly what that means. Have you thought of a lightbar yet, and what you will tap to have it trigger with the...

Sorry about the delay. Here is what I ended up doing. It works great. The BluSea battery meter has an OLED screen. It's very slick. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

Update on Chief products from a guy at KevinsOffroad: Kevin's is one of the only distributors of this product in the US (They may be the only, other than through Chief directly). There is a container-load of product arriving in the US on August 5th; whatever Chief hasn't sold directly as...

    Halley - '17 WK2 Trailhawk Overland Build

I got the info from the link on Chief's site, which was referenced by another forum user. Bill Mackin from Chief emailed me last night, as I ordered the lower guard at their "pre-order" price and am trying to expedite its shipment to Missouri for my trip to Colorado in a few weeks. If he...

    Halley - '17 WK2 Trailhawk Overland Build

Guys: can any of you tell me if I can remove the lower facia on a 2014 GC Overland, or is the bumper a one piece unit? If it's possible, and you have a link with instructions, I would surely appreciate it. 2180miles, your rig looks amazing. When will the Chief products be readily available...

    My M101A2 Expo/Base Camp Trailer

Glad to hear it. I now have 6 of those actuators on my trailer; 4 for the rack, and 2 for the lid. So far so good, although the exterior screws on them have already started to rust. But they're working great. Thanks.
